This Video is purely for the education of BASE jumpers and other Extreme Sports athletes to show how i have survived the sport of base jumping so far in the last 19 years. It is not an action packed video and it is long. But if this video can save just one life then it is a success! Please share it to people you think might be on the edge of dying and are in need of a wake up call. Thank you.
A big thanks To Rachel and Toby of www.seventwentyproductions.com for their awesoem job on this. FB page: SevenTwentyP...

+Chris “Douggs” Mcdougall Either do I mate. I've been an avid watcher of TED and yourself (on a former channel of mine with a popular playlist heavily featuring you) for years though, and I think they'd be lucky to have you. Putting that playlist together over the years let me live the dream through you guys. It was a genuine shock for me when Ludo died because Jokke's stuff also featured heavily. Anyway, thanks for the memories and stay safe. Respect to all your late friends too. I'm sure they'd be proud.

I only skydive and Im at 205 jumps, here and there I think about doing base but always punt the idea saying "Maybe later down the road." This video is incredible and very informative presented in such a true and honest way. Thanks Chris for the knowledge. Hope you are still teaching base for when the day comes that I feel Im ready.

I've been skydiving for 3 years, year round. Been working in skydiving as a coach and packer since last summer. I did my first 3 BASE jumps at Perrine last summer. Just got my first BASE container a week ago. I'm trying to take this slow and learn as best as I can. Keep it simple and make the best of whatever happens. Trust your instincts. We're connected to fate, and this 6th sense exists with us to serve us. We don't know what happens after we die, but let's just assume it's not nearly as beautiful as the existence we all share right NOW.

What an amazing video! I always wanted to know how people like Dougs and Dan keep doing this and while others seem to keep dying. Dougs gave for me one of the most humble and informative presentions of BASE you could ever find. He also admitted himself he pushed his luck at times. It's funny because there is a video where even Jeb said Dougs on the troll wall was doing super dangerous stuff, thats something coming from Jeb! Keep going Dougs!! Awesome video.

Awesome talk Douggs! Thank you so much for such an honest, down to earth and humble sharing! More experienced jumpers should do the same! I feel there are so many guys at the top level, and who so many new fliers emulate...and who certainly have a lot of knowledge, but are not sharing! Biggest points for me were... Don't rush, know your limits, and it's OK to back off a jump! Save some for tomorrow! --- Great advice! Hope one day learn from you personally. Safe jumping and keep teaching! We need it!

Such a good video Douggs - so many golden nuggets of information and psychological tips to give one a better chance of survival. So much of this wisdom is also very transferable to other dangerous activities (eg. motorbikes). Had I thought a bit like this, maybe the 21year old me wouldn't have done a 180 degree toggle turn at 100ft that ended in a helicopter trip to the ER and a backbrace for weeks - I had recently seen Point Break and thought I was Johnny Utah.. "young dumb and full of... " the medic in the helicopter soon brought me back down to reality. This video will undoubtedly save multiple lives even if it can't be accurately quantified as everything is very sensitive to initial conditions. Well done sir - you set the standard for BASE education. I am currently sitting on the sidelines from Skydiving as I have a young son - he needs his dad around more than I need to go jumping - yet I yearn to go. And base jumping wise, I still have yet to do one (I had planned to get involved in the 90s but always delayed knowing the sport would progres, equipment get better etc.) - but the goal now is to get into to it in my 60s when my boy can fend for himself - save something for the future right!! Knowing this motivates me to keep fit, supple, eat well for that challenge in later life. Blue Skies and on heading openings - SImon, France

Wow. Being 15 years old and only having rope-jumped from a 72 meter bridge twice, this opened up my eyes. I never really considered just how high of a chance there is not to just mess up in one jump but mess up even after years of experience. I'm going skydiving when I turn 16 and hope to begin B.A.S.E jumping at 19 or 20. Thanks Chris for this video, it really helped me out. Stay safe!😉

People, base jumping is not for everyone. Just because it looks nice cool and crazy you need to really think if you're prepared to enter this world. Start with skydiving, be very proficient and good in many disciplines and then do a self awareness session with your self and ask yourself if you really want to base jump.

This is a great video. I'm a whuffo (AFF planned for 2017), and when i first saw BASE videos, like many, i was obsessed with hardcore proxy flights. The first video i saw was in Bispen and have seen many since. But ignorantly i assumed it only took maybe 1 or 2 years to get to that level from beginning BASE. There is so much training behind the scenes that nobody other than the jumper themselves sees/does. I guess it's the same with any sport - train to become better and dont rush. I will definitely be taking your points into account that relate to skydiving for next year. Cheers Douggs. The negative comment I have is sadly to hear about this video, I saw the recent leg strap incident. Shows that gear checks are vital and never assume everything is okay. Stay safe cheers :)
