Will this pair of budget dovetail saws be able to cut the mustard, or even wood... I'll have a couple of videos, one for each saw, up soon so you can see them in action.

I've never been a fan of the gent saw handle. I took one of those once and made a really weird kind of pistol grip handle. I actually took some never hardening clay and made a model of a handle then carved that shape out of wood. It's quite bizarre. I've made a traditional handle pattern too for another saw. Then I scored the Unicorn at a garage sale. A turn of the century Disston tenon saw. For the princely sum of $3!

@@faceedgewoodworking they could have just been giving it away. But yeah they pretty much were.

I have used one. The handle isn't very pretty but they are actually very comfortable and ergonomically feel good. The look of these saws will grow on you after a while.

Hi, thanks for the experienced based feedback. I sold it on, with some work it would be fine, glad it worked out for you.

@@faceedgewoodworking I never owned one but I once used it in a workshop. I have vintage saw that looks like that one though.

You might be just the man to ask. Close to buying the spear and jackson 300 15ppi tenon saw. What are your thoughts on this saw for making picture frames cutting on dressed pine.

Hi JMC. I don't have experience with that saw, however my general experience with modern Spear & Jackson is that there is a solid foundation and they are good value but a little unrefined. I keep one of these at work and it cuts very finely with no "tuning" IRWIN JACK 12TPI WOOD XPERT TENON SAW 14" (355MM)
