Thanks very much. Outrageous I know! They are back this week though so all good. My Fiancée learned the hard way when I played, no holidays in cricket season and if it’s a must then there is no chance I will miss more than one Saturday 😂.

Great win Andy. Went to the wire and first league win at last. Difficult league and as you say some of the teams have good overseas players in their ranks. Over 400 runs in a day, some good batting and some excellent spin bowling from Thames Ditton. Great day with your fun coverage too, but have missed your legendary quip...Lick the stamp........All in all a great days cricket

Thanks Dave, at last! We’ve managed to mess up 2 games prior to this so getting that win will have done wonders I hope. Yes it is difficult but as many have said, it’s not a huge step in levels from last year. Just some club are investing in very good overseas, seems we will come up against a few very good individuals but they may do a bit of carrying of the rest of the team. I believe we are a very well rounded team that are strong in all departments (we all have off days though). Thames Ditton were a good team but we should have closed the game out much much earlier. Oh the quip is ready and raring to go… just need a shot worthy of it 😉

@@HorleyCricketClubTV i knows Andy the quip is coming. Reckon Horley as you say are a very balanced team, with 4 good pace bowlers including Charlies medium fast with so much accuracy. Of course Gaino also has to fit in somewhere. The summer is long and with holidays everyone will get a chance this season. Like the look of Dave Dyers batting. Good signing you have there. One of the other sites i look at 3 Bridges are playing Eastbourne this weekend with your ex player, young Ben Renfry. See how he fares against the Bridges. Love your coverage and commentary. One of my weekly cricketing highlights along with Sanderstead, Bridges, Wheatley, Tintsel, The Bison, Clitheroe and many more. Cheers Dave

I’m sure it will come soon enough. Yes I think we are, let’s hope the guys come on from this win and carry on now the ice is broken. Gaino is back this week and should be for the rest of the year, we all know how good he can be! Yep, good signing. Ben remfry doesn’t play for Eastbourne any more, he plays for East Grinstead so you will see him there when they play Bridges. I’m just pleased that we can put the content out and be amongst those great channels

@@HorleyCricketClubTV meant to say East Grinstead Andy as i look at your league and 3 Bridges on 'play cricket', along with a few others. When i played cricker, we never took holidays in the season, because once away we couldnt get back into the side. Mind you we all know how Gaino can be on his day, so he is excused lol 😂

Any reason Charlie didn't bowl more at the decent bat? The one thing that gets decent bats more than often is the extra bounce from the high delivery point.

Yeah I agree, I’m not sure what the on field decisions were. I thought Ben looked most likely to get him in his first spell but Charlie is always a difficult bowler to get away with his accuracy and bounce

Amazing game. Impressive South African overseas player for Thames Ditton. Brilliant flick around the corner by Charlie for the win. Real question is though....How tall is Charlie?

Thanks very much, he was very good indeed. I spent a lot of time wondering what effect it would have if we were to consider and find a player like that to put in amongst our squad that could easily bat all day and everyone else play around him. I think it would be quite scary really, our squad is good let alone with someone like him who is about every single week. Charlie hasn’t stopped offering the top order batting coaching sessions 🤦🏻‍♂️🙈😂

He’s a very good player. Well, there’s not much to know really. His name is Dave, he is (as he put it) very old and he’s played for the clubs hockey section for the last few years and wanted to give cricket another go after not playing for a decade or so 🙂

Another great match to watch and seeing Charlie win the game was brill! BUt...as you progress to higher leagues you really do need to bat for overs when you are ahead of the game. I can't take much more of these nail biters :)

Is Horley’s Angus Fraser injured as I haven’t seem him do much bowling this season. Oppo’s centurion looked like the business. I think he was called Engler. Good job Horley.

He’s got some new spikes which may be causing him some aggro… he’s a great bowler hope to see more of him. We have plenty of bowling too so sometimes it’s good to keep mixing it up not letting the batsmen settle. He really was good and yes his surname was Engler

Normally we have regan there as ant has the gloves and he’s very reliable, also just a bad day in the office there. We’ve had a really bumpy start to the year in the field, it’s somewhere that we usually do really well in. It will come to us soon. Just hope it’s sooner rather than later

Important win. I would suggest that the opposition won’t be winning too many games with their batting lineup, even with their overseas.

That OS will win them a few of the games on his own he was excellent. We had 2 chances that whole innings… 1 was Adam C&B (insanely difficult) and one was Charlie which we took. It really was a sublime knock

I think thats a bit OTT, sure catching wasn't brilliant and it would have made a big difference had they gone to hand. Why not compliment Adam Stephenson for a brilliant attempt at a flying catch off his own bowling. Lots of good things to remember, even the 4 that David Dyer hit towards me that was beautiful in its execution and a bit close to me for comfort !

Got to agree with Bernard. It wasn’t great but we don’t claim to be, we are average people going out to have fun on a Saturday and hopefully win some games. We are usually very good in the field this year for some reason we have been very poor but it will come good I’ve no doubt

Oh trust me apart from that the boys were brilliant won’t take that away from them. That was just me being an annoyed bowler for Will, I was just angry for him🤣
