Great coverage Andy, and a treat to see Gaino. Shame about the weather, so many times in summer we have an awful afternoon and by 6 it’s bright sunshine and set fair, this used to annoy me when I used to play, get rained off at 3 and we’d be down the pub beer garden at 6pm in t shirts wondering why we weren’t playing.

So many positives regardless of the weather. Both the Renfries back is a surprise, but home is home. Notice Gaino is back also, meaning a few first team players must have involuntary dropped out. Shows how many good players Horley have, and who want to play good standard cricket. Great that you even managed some coverage Andy albeit only Horleys bowling. Enough said about the unfortunate catching on this occasion. Didnt prove costly anyway. Now onto your filming. This is the first time i have seen how picturesque your ground is. By all means if you can film the game from this angle as well. It was brilliant. We have all been used to the pavillion and scoreboard end, and had no idea that the ground on the other side is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Good luck with the weather this weekend also. It must change for the better. Hopefully, you will get those player interviews up and running too. Thanks from Dave

Thankfully I think the amount of stoppages can stop you from wondering if the dropped catches made any difference to getting a result. One of those days I suppose - I agree totally about the inability to extend the day when the conditions suit. It does seema bit of a farce. I am guessing the return of the Remfries will mean your youth stars will have to wait longer for regular 1st team cricket?

Absolutely. It was a great game. We came away feeling very good about it albeit frustrated, bowled well for 55 overs and then scored at a significantly faster rate but just couldn’t quite overcome that 10 over deficit.

Good game. I played at this ground once for The Mote CC against Dulwich, in a Sunday friendly. I have two main memories of that day, one good and one bad - the good one was the unbelievable tea, quite possibly the best I ever had in some 35 years of playing. They've got a number of Asian players and the WAGS had done a load of curry dishes, it was delicious. The second memory that's not good was of warming up in those nets in the background, I managed to top-edge a ball into my mouth, cue swelling and loads of blood and pain before I even went out to bat.
@HorleyCricketClubTV
@HorleyCricketClubTV 10 күн бұрын
Thank you. Yeah we weren’t on the Dulwich ground but it’s the same place. Good teas is Egham, they are outstanding but doesn’t sound as good as what you describe there! Haha yeah that’s put a bit of a downer on it. I had a similar one, when I scored my first league century a few years back I was obviously thrilled… went out to field in the second innings and had a ball pop up and smack me in the eye socket… that put a dampener on that day too

This is English wickets in a nutshell. Some will jump like off a trampoline and next ball will be a grubber. You can NEVER play off back foot, like ever because of this.

It’s very very frustrating. It wouldn’t be as bad if it was a bit fairer. Just don’t think that 10 overs is fair… that’s 60 balls!!! Run a ball that’s another 60 runs. Just a huge amount to overcome if you want to get a win

Also do not like this timed cricket. Just means that most games end up as draws, when the run chase is over 220. Great batting again from Reagen, CP and Ben. I really despise the way CP was out. Just dont remember this during my playing time. Fair play seems to have gone. Brilliant game of cricket though, and super content Andy. Wouldnt like to drive through London with so much time needed, for a short distance. Berlin is no different. Roadworks seem to spring up overnight here 😢😅

CP was unlucky I genuinely don't think the bowler has done anything other than get a hand on it he's entitled to do so it's not like it was a mankad I have been out that way and got someone out by getting a finger to it always a risk you knows there
@HorleyCricketClubTV
@HorleyCricketClubTV 10 күн бұрын
It certainly does when chasing such a large total from a team that’s had an extra 10 overs to bat!! Yeah those guys batted nicely, CP was soooo unlucky! It was a very innocent dismissal to be fair, bowler actually went to catch the ball but missed it and it bounced off his wrist onto the stumps… looked completely unintentional. It was a great game and bodes very well for the season that we won’t be taking any game lightly and we will do everything we can to get that full allocation of points!

Guys, will you please stop messing around with the scorecards. You've gone from a light green which was difficult to read, to a yellow which was equally difficult. It's not a Dulux colour chart, settle on two colours with sufficient contrast, like the blue and red and stick with them. I'm sure younger viewers will wonder what the problem is, when you are in your seventies, your eyes need all the help they can get.

Brilliant game of cricket Andy. 4 games played and you have almost double the points, that a very good Egham side have. Great knocks from both teams. Bowlers put the sword on a good batting wicket, as Horley( thanks to yourself and the groundsmen) normally is. Reckon a tie was the correct result. Great filming and commentary as usual, and dare i say it, you had good reason to lick the stamp and send it 😂lol

poor fielding and game management cost that last over and very poor to allow the non striker batsman to be half way down before they bowled the ball. Also didnt hear on the coms that anyone was an international player or u19s surrey player which is odd considering the title

Gogev represented Bulgaria during the week. Commentator mentioned it. I assume Will Hamilton, their number 4 who hit seventy is the Surrey under 19 guy. Looked the goods but they did not pace their run chase very well considering only 2 wickets lost. Hats off to Horley though for persistent bowling in the face of quality batting.
@HorleyCricketClubTV
@HorleyCricketClubTV 19 күн бұрын
Exactly what was said above. I did mention the international player but must have missed the Surrey player. It was the number 4 who hit 70odd he was a very good player. I’d say they got very lucky tbh as we were very scrappy in the field at times especially compared to normal… throwing ~15 overthrows and there was a no ball incident which wasn’t shown but that should have been a no ball and free hit… potentially another few runs there. The last over of Irfaan was expensive too purely by luck of a couple of boundaries going off down towards 3rd man.
