Great hike again. I did it to Lee’s Ferry 30 years ago. Some parts I remember vividly, some less. The general beauty of Paria stays in one’s memory forever.

most excellent video and good job capturing the planet....I got a big chuckle out of your chuckle as you introduced your tired and shabby tent.. it reminded me of a sea burial my grandmother made me do on a cruise to Italy..we said goodby to my 14 year old brown leather cowboy boots.. it was a comical yet sad farewell to them as i launched them overboard one night, and i obviously still remember them from time to time.. so VIVA LA CARPA!

Love this! When I did the Paria back in March 2015, the river was running at 90 cfs! I would not recommend doing that again. It’s still one of the key and most memorable backpacking trips I’ve ever done.

Great job - I've never hiked any part of the Paria, so this was so cool on all levels 😃! I would absolutely take the side trip to see that amazing arch, and it's cool that you found that small petroglyph panel even though it wasn't the official Bighorn Panel you thought. After watching your video, I of course had to do a fly-over on Google Earth. I have to admit that seeing you do that climb out I almost wanted to puke; I've done quasi-similar things on day hikes and scared the crap out of myself. I've never hiked in Crocs, but I always bring some type of camp shoe/sandal along on backpacking, and have hiked significant portions of the Escalante Route in GCNP in Tevas once, including through the Redwall break section, about 20 years ago. It was because of severe heel blisters I had from my hiking boots 😬. Was hugely grateful for amphibious shoes on the ill-fated Hayduke shakedown trip I did in '15 down Muley Twist/Hall's Creek Narrows - the rocks and sand are a complete NIGHTMARE when hiking through water in boots or closed shoes. I'm curious: have you ever hiked in trail running shoes? I switched to those for backpacking in 2015, I think, and would never go back to boots again. Anyway, I'm so glad you made it up out of that sketchy climb section with no injuries or loss of equipment, and I'm excited to see your next installment 👍🏻.

That cliffside climb is sketch af. A big nope! The streamside bath otoh, big yep! Glad mr shadow is still alive and kicking.

I often hike in my crocs also. If there is water they perform well but in the summer time with no water hey can get sweaty. Enjoying your adventure down the Paria and out. Sometime, I would like to hear you explain your camera set up. How you get video form what seems so far away from your arm length. Many thanks for taking us along on your trips!

Wow! Each new video is better and better. The shots you take could be used for postcards. You ought to calculate how many miles you walk back to retrieve the camera after getting a shot of you walking AWAY from the camera. Tough on your legs but makes great video. On seeing that climb I wonder why you just didn't walk all the way to Lee's Ferry and call an Uber. Beautiful, can't wait for more, especially as this year I didn't travel. Thanks!!!

19:29 Do you think crocs would be a good alternative for something like the Zion Narrows where it's lots of water hiking but less small rocks? I've always done it in tennis shoes to avoid the concrete boot problem but I was wondering if there was a good cheap alternative like crocs.
