In today’s episode, we have Mrityunjay Sharma in conversation with Raj Shamani.
He is a Politician, an Entrepreneur, and an Author. He is also the Election Management Chief of BJP in Jharkhand. He has written a popular book- Broken Promises.
In this episode, we talked about why many people from Bihar shy away from saying that they are from Bihar, and why while the rest of India was growing, Bihar remained poor. We then talked about what his book ‘Broken Promises’ meant and why Bihar was living a nightmare for 15 years. We also discussed how Lalu led Bihar to its downfall and all the scams he did, including the 900 crores ‘Chara Ghotala’. He shared the Rohini Acharya story and how she became a doctor and the ‘Gautam and Shilpi murder story’.

मैं मेट्रिक पास करके इंटरमीडिएट की पढ़ाई के लिए पटना गया था,,, मैं UP -Bihar बॉर्डर के जिला -कैमूर (भभुआ ) का हूँ मेरे सामने कोचिंग जाने के क्रम में 4-5 मर्डर हुए,,, एक विद्यार्थी हो कर उसे अपने साइकिल से कितना प्यार होता है,, सब जानते हैं,,, मुझे वैसे मौकों पर अपनी साइकिल छोड़ कर भागनी पड़ी और वापस आने पर मेरी साइकिल नहीं मिली 🙄🙄 नितीश कुमार के आने से थोड़ी बहुत स्थिति में सुधार आया है 🙏🙏

I am from Bihar ....the stories shared in this podcast are absolutely true. The bigger problem is still people of Bihar are supporting leaders from RJD who is responsible for the downfall of Bihar. Tejashvi Yadav was deputy chief minister in the previous elected state govt. Many people are still sleeping and supporting caste politics. My dad retired in 2016 as an IAS officer , he moved to Jharkhand just because it was too difficult to work with lalu yadav, I have seen himso tensed when he was Posted in Chapra, because of frequent posting transfers I have to study in a boarding school since a very small age

I am a Bihari. My district is Jehanabad. In 1999 more than 150 people from Bhumihar community were slaughtered in Senari village by RJD, CPIM and CPIML backed Naxals. Then, CM Bihar Rabri Devi did not go to Senari village and told his minister Ramashraya Singh that Ramashraya ji go to Senari village your community people has been murdered.😢

Bihar 1990 se pehle kam se kam India ka average se to uper tha. FYI, in 1950 Tamil nadu was POORER than Bihar to aisa nahi hai ki 1990 se pehle Bihar baaki rajyo se peche tha. Lekin 1990 ke baad under lalu yadav Bihar aur peechda ho gya. Data sab jooth expose kr deta hai. 1) Bihar ki per capita income sirf ₹40, 000 hai. Hyderabad, Bangalore ki ₹5.5 Lakh hai aur Gurugram ki ₹7 Lakh. Noida ki ₹6.5 Lakh. 2) Bihar ka urbanisation rate INDIA mein sabse kam hai sirf 11% . 3) Bihar Pakistan aur Sub Saharan Africa se bhi gareeb hai. Aur chaat te raho lalu ki. 4) Gujarat exports :- $147 Billion Bihar exports :- $0.2 Billion

Raj I am 44 years old.I had to run away with family from begusarai because gun wielding Gundas started blocking my wat to school and one night start knocking at our door with guns in their hand...thankfully I had completed my 10th..In 1997 we fled and arrived in Delhi...and after that I only went back in 2006 after Nitish took over .....in the 90s it used to take 5 hours to travel 40 kms....whatever this guy is saying is only 10% of what it was like

One part of reason that RJD got 75 seats in assembly polls is due to lack of a credible alternative and thus in parliamentary polls when people see other alternative they get less seats. Other part is people from age group 20-30 were either not born or were too small to remember the 'jangal raj'. We have to keep in mind that the same age group , most of them are neither well educated or skilled ( because of abysmal education system) and thus they find their heros in ' bahubalis' ,so its also poverty of aspirations here. Now I don't support genocidal comments like 'swarno ka sanhar karo' in the name of social revolution we have to ask how many of backward classes have benefited from the policy of that period. Yes they got guns and stick in their hand but not jobs or education. In other states too there is division of caste and class but here in Bihar it was state who jeopardize development for vote bank unlike other states .

As a Bihari and particularly a 90s kid, I did spent my childhood in fear. I remember almost every incident he mentioned in this podcast. My parents also didn't include my title in my name or my siblings name just because of the wide spread castism in Bihar at that time. We tell Nitish Kumar is a "Paltu" but in his tenure from 2005-2010 he really took great initiatives to improve the situation of Bihar. After that he obviously made some political mistakes that he should not have done but he is the person who improved the law and order situation of Bihar from a complete Jangal Raj. People who are still voting for Lalu's party RJD should understand that Lalu has done nothing for Bihar, he only divided the society in cast and religion for his personal benifits. I will surely go to Bihar in the coming state assembly elections to cast my vote for the right candidate and will request every Bihari who is living outside Bihar to please go to Bihar and cast their vote to the right person. Thanks a lot Raj for doing this podcast. I will request every Bihari to share this podcast to their family WhatsApp groups, so that the younger generation should also know what was the situation of Bihar in 90s and early 2000. I will surely buy this book and request Neeraj Pandey to create a web series on this book befor the next Bihar assembly elections of 2025.

Champa Vishwas Rape' case is a case in which an IAS's wife, her mother and several maids were raped for 2 years and they could do nothing even if they wanted to. The entire system had proved to be dwarf in front of Mrityunjay Yadav, the rapist goon son of MLA Hemlata Yadav, who was very close to Lalu. When IAS Vishwas complained about this to Lalu Yadav, he laughed that this keeps happening - keep quiet, at least you are alive. While fighting this battle, IAS DD Vishwas passed away. His family left Bihar and still roams hidden out of fear, living a life of anonymity and humiliation.
