i think it's odd that your first reaction to the Werner driver is derision rather than concern. "oh why the hell are you parking in the side of the freeway" probably because there's something wrong. no, Josh, he's just pulling over to take a snack break on the shoulder of a freeway. seriously, dude...

+swapsplat i see trucks almost every day pull over on the shoulder north bound on 75 into michigan within the first mile, then ten miles up the road they are passing me.

+swapsplat secondly if you have an emergency you don't use your turn signal to get on the shoulder you use your hazards.

rt 9 is the double a highway. i drove it several years going to and from the northwest. you were very lucky to find a parking spot at that pilot.

One thing I wish would happen more in the UK is moving away from vehicles on the shoulder like your policeman at 8:08. I always move half a lane out from the shoulder if there is any vehicle stopped there, especially at night when roadworkers are putting lane closures in for night-time road-works. Those guys must have no nerves!!

That highway 9 out of Cincinnati going SE through Kentucky is known as The "AA" (Double A) Highway and is very heavily patrolled so be sure to watch your speed. There are a lot of serious accidents on this road.

Werner is headquartered out of Omaha, Nebraska, my home city. It's a respectable company, and I bet the driver wouldn't pull over unless something happened that required immediate attention. I know you didn't mean anything by it, it's just that him pulling over caught you off guard. There are two sides to every story. Keep on trucking!

8:00. in some provinces like Saskatchewan, even if you move over you still have to slow down to 60km/h. I sadly found that out the hard way.

That's good that you moved over for the cop. In Virginia,if you see blue,red,or yellow flashing lights, you HAVE to move over as it's the law. If you can't,then you have to slow down. IT is the LAW now in Virginia

Yeah that very much so is Cincinnati Ohio. You just passed the Cincinnati reds stadium a.k.a. great American ballpark. And the Bengals stadium.

I think it's really funny to hear you describe the Interstate at 2:25mins as, 'really busy'! Come over to the M25 around London or the M6 north of Birmingham if you want to see a really busy motorway!! I make no apologies for the quaint British terminology! ;-))

Might interest some viewers with rest stop scenery with Diesel running loose, there is a lot of scenery in mid-south USA, Howard Bingham in Deer Park, Texas, dig Chicken Fried Steak with cottage fries, smothered in gravy, with a helpin of fried okra and Pecan pie for dessert Y'all. 8-)

Back in my day driving OTR there were many times when I had to pee we would either pee in a men's urinal or pee on a tree but as for pulling on the emergency shoulder we would first check our rear view mirror for safety turn on the proper turning signal and allow anyone hat might be in our rear enough time to see the signal light on the trailer and then allow our self enough trival time to safely stop our truck on the shoulder because safety is first .

for me at least, these vlogs are so exciting, I can't wait to start my trucking journey. I plan to attempt to obtain my cdl in June or July to start the process. I just can't decide which school I want or even on my own without the schools. any suggestions?

What was the final disposition of Josh's old truck {the one he just recently was able to pay off}...( I know he said he was going to have pour a huge amount of money into it and was concerned because it was old with very large miles on it)..Is He now a full time Company Driver, driving that new Western Star for the Company?
