That’s exciting! Great time to move. And yes there are! Pretty much any building around your work location is great! I recommend staying north of Pine street though and don’t get anything along 3rd avenue.

Most of the people I know who have been laid off, recieved really nice layoff packages and were hired within a month or so. Although it's definitely a different story for those who are here on a visa. For them it's harder to get a job, so not sure how they're doing

If you work near downtown or in tech there is no doubt it is a good place to be. It’s safe and clean for a city. The main complaints I hear is that it’s too expensive and is just glass high rises. Others complain it doesn’t have culture. These complaints are valid, but I live in Belltown and work in SLU and in my experience: 1. I like how it’s clean 2. Its convenient cause you can walk downtown and have easy access to I5 3. If you don’t like the food options in SLU Capitol Hill, downtown,and Belltown are a 5-15 minute walk away 4. You honestly don’t need a car. I have a car but I only drive 1 or twice a week 5. It is expensive. For some that’s a deal breaker for others it isn’t an issue. If you don’t buy a car then living in SLU can actually be cheaper than other neighborhoods (saving 300-500 a month on car payments, save 100 on insurance, and save an additional 200-300 on monthly parking).
