How to make a floating frame for a canvas painting or print

Best way to frame a canvas is with a floating frame. This was made with reclaimed cedar that was about 85 years old.

I don't know what was more ingenious, the masking tape to glue it together, the brackets to make sure it was exactly 45 degrees or the scraper wrapped in sandpaper to sand in small places. The frame was beautiful. Your workmanship is unbelievable. Such a great job.

Wow that canvas really pops with that frame, I love it. When you first showed the canvas it looked very flat and lifeless, but the frame really made it come alive. Very nicely done !!

Very nice clean work, miters fit extremely well. Finished product fit the art piece with a solid match in color contrast. Cedar usually does have nice grain and is a nice wood to work with. Thanks for the instructional video........my compliments.........she's right mate!!

Very good video! This was just what I needed to do my next project. I appreciate the step by step detail you provide in your videos, and I always learn a new technique or two to make my life easier. I'm also working on how to speak metric as a second language since we have not yet progressed that far in the USA. Thanks much and keep 'em coming.

I just did a floating frame similar to the one you made but I didn't have a black reveal. That is what I loved about the frame you put together here. I have about 6 more frames to make and I will make them all with the black reveal you showed in this video. Thanks for the tip. Great work by the way.
