Every time I watch this video, I have more respect for his work and talent. He had such an incredible voice. Rest in peace, Mr. von Sydow.

He should be up for an honorary Oscar in 2019. Never won an Oscar. 2 nominations. No nomination for the Exorcist (which is a travesty in itself). Iconic roles for 7 decades starting with 7th seal in 1957. He's the one that's constantly underrated and taken for granted by the general movie going audience but is recognized as a master actor by his peers and cinephiles. In later years he's more known for the younger crowd for his voice-over work. They should know that they're hearing the words of a giant. He will be 90 in april 2019 and doesn't have that many years left to be able to personally accept such a recognition.

The reason he never won a Oscar probably had to do with the fact that he was not part of the Hollywood click and scum that you have in that industry today with the likes of Harvey Weinstein and co....He was much to brilliant and intelligent of a man to be supplicating to that worthless shower of misfits

Brian they put a lot of make up on him for The Exorcist. I believe he was in his forties when they made the film. The age he is in this interview is pretty close to the age he is depicted in the movie
