I love Peter Capaldi. The Thick of It is one of my favorite shows of all time. Since then, I never miss anything by Armando Ianucci. The Death of Stalin is brilliant. This is such an old interview, but I'm embarrassed by the interviewer.

I find it extraordinary that in this interview, from a channel with such a portentous name, that the camera is wandering all over the place and manages to be frequently soft focused. Also calling Capaldi the lead, claiming there's no political comedy in the USA, and a number of other basic research errors. For god's sake get three cameras in triple axis: one shooting across each interview subject and one wide: and then leave them alone. You got to interview two wonderful people and almost managed to fuck it up, but then they saved it for you.

A shame the interviewer knew next to nothing about The Thick of It.

The interviewer was talking about political comedies it was the interviewees that defended American T.V by listing shows that weren't political in nature.

The interviewer has to be knowledgeable about his subject, this is a one sided with Peter & Armando doing all the work...

Guess it was the cam op's first day. This should have been a static two-shot the entire time. No need to keep dropping tilt, zooming in and out all the time... breaking the fluidity of the conversation with all that faffing.

Why is the interviewers first question about how everyone in the cast were well known American actors and he cast a British actor he’d never met to play the keas, he may not have met him prior but Capaldi is a legend and brilliant actor. It just comes across as American bias and arrogance plus insulting as heck

Very interesting subject, brilliant actor and director but almost ruined by a criminally bad interviewer and camera operator.

stop watching and read other peoples comments instead whilst still listening to the comentary , thats what you should do;)
