I applied for a government tender for the first time ever a few years ago, because it was in my line of (technical) experience. Along the way, I suspected fishy corruption stuff and wrote to Matiang'i. The tender was cancelled immediately and never was advertised again. The guys behind the tender were very angry at me. I suspected that they decided to wait for a more "friendly" administration. If Martha Karua was the DP, I would have been confident that the tender process would have been above board. For now I'm not sure the tender (and many, many others) for a very technical service will be awarded to the most competent/best company (and not the shady one that dishes out _kitu kidogo_ under the table). Such is life...
