Aseem Malhotra is a campaigner against the excessive consumption of sugar. A National Health Service (NHS) doctor and consultant cardiologist in the UK, he believes that too much sugar in our diets can lead to medical conditions commonly associated with aging - including obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. A global health advocate and avowed foodie, Aseem is also a writer, and recently completed ‘The Big Fat Fix’ - a film which highlights what he sees as the myths behind our understanding of sugar, fat, and exercise.

To this day, (Dec 23) the hospital's are still serving junk food! I recently had a TIA and was admitted to York hospital for surgery. The the treatment from this hospital was exceptional and I truly thank them for most likely saving my life - I can't express my gratitude enough! During recovery I was unable to get low carb food and of course I declined all the jelly, cakes and ice-cream lol. Fortunately, I was given a token to visit the in house cafe and managed to select a low carb meal there! There was clearly a lack of cohesion between the medical profession and the food supply companies and as a diabetic, the meal menu was incompatible! I have been watching your videos and I am so grateful for your efforts to bring a change in the NHS and other institutions relating to health across the globe. Thank so much!

Go back to the sixties and earlier, everyone was skinny, and it wasn't because we smoked, it was because we didn't have all that sugar and seed oils in our diet.
