Sixty years ago, Patrice Emery #Lumumba, the first Congolese prime minister, was assassinated. His killing by Congolese and Belgian officers sparked global outrage, instantly turning Lumumba into a national hero and a symbol of the dashed hopes of post-independence Africa. The exact circumstances of his death have remained unclear to this day. Belgium has admitted its "moral responsibility" in the killing, but stopped short of naming those responsible. Lumumba's family and a handful of investigators continue to fight for the truth. #DRC

He'll be protected. It was in the Belgian government's interest that Prime Minister Lumumba be eliminated. He was never going to be anyone's puppet stooge, and they knew that. The only way to get a measure of justice is when the Congo can break free from imperialism. The political sons and daughters of Lumumba will bring liberation to the Congo.

Congo is the heart of Africa and the west know that. Afrca will never realize it's full economic potential without this vast country. They have always made this country ungovernable so that the resources are plundered . They should bring back development resources and not a tooth. At least they should finance one rail or road to accompany the tooth , otherwise they can keep it till they are ready.

When you are normal person and kill you go to prison. When you work for the government, you are promoted. Etienne Davignon should be in prison, and the family of Lumumba should get justice and financial reperations from Belgium(becouse USA was not fast enough to kill him). Kongo, which was devastated by it, should be helped now by USA and Belgium, not further exploited as it is happening now - cobalt mining for example.
