Dr Disrespect Was banned from twitch after inappropriately messaging minors via Whispers on the platform. However, I think this is just the tip of the iceberg because it exposes how twitch used NDAs to protect their business instead of the innocent. In today's video I also share a personal story about Dr Disrespect leaking Advanced Warfare by being wild with DMs.

The big problem with a rogue twitch employee leaking tons of evidence like logs or screenshots is that legally, there are VERY serious issues with identifying the minor/victim that compromises both their safety and court case. I absolutely wish this sort of behavior couldn't be brushed under a rug for someone down the line to find after it's too late to take action. But at the same time, leaking such sensitive info is simply not okay. Really the moral of the story here is that the authorities need to do their job when they get reports like this and actually make an arrest. Many cases like Doc's fall into a legal grey area where what they're doing isn't outright illegal, but it always leads to something worse. What we really need are new laws that protect minors better from people like him, as well as law enforcement reforms that hold police to a higher standard than "decades of backlogged SA cases just rotting in an evidence locker." Despite their actions to suppress the story, Twitch legally HAS to report the activity Doc participated in on their platform. The fact that case went no where (apparently anyway) is what gave them the green flag to cover it up to begin with.

I strongly agree with this. Also, that would set a bad precedent to allow people to leak private messages as they see fit, without going through the proper channels - essentially acting like a form of mob justice. Maybe instead of leaking these things publicly, they can instead disclose the cases to the authorities, which would protect the identity of the victims and ensure things are handled properly and with due process. As this comment said though, the justice system is not perfect either, and they could certainly be doing more to prevent things like this from being so prevalent.

If the report is correct, Twitch did do something in 2017. They reported him to the authorities, and he was found to have done nothing illegal. The timeline doesn't make much sense, though. If they knew he did this in 2017, why wait 3 years and an eight figure deal later to ban him? I believe they didn't find those messages until 2020, after they signed him to his deal. They investigated him because of the deal, and due to time constraints (if they didn't sign him, Mixer would have), they didn't have enough time to do a full investigation until after the ink dried. The new rumor is Twitch employees catfished him, but I find that hard to believe, although Twitch did pay him his full contract and damages, so who knows. The whole thing is weird and, in a way, seems intentional. By all involved, including Dr. Disrespect.

I have enjoyed Doc’s streams, but I’m not out here looking for some reason to defend Doc. I don’t really get why it seems like people need to put everyone into a box of left or right. I lean towards innocent until proven guilty, simply because I think it’s easy for people to become mob-like and hateful throughout history. It doesn’t mean I think someone should “get away” with committing an illegal or immoral act. I don’t think it’s equitable to what Doc is being accused of, but putting up a fake “screenshot” of a DM showing the accusation happened about a 14 year old as a the video’s main image honestly is sad. Why is it so hard for people who seemingly have no skeletons in the closet (I genuinely doubt it - I imagine the energy you portray when you’re even less careful about how you look) to NOT take it code red levels of justified hatefulness. Lastly, I don’t know why it’s so hard to see nuance in anything that we consider to be “wrong.” It’s wrong for me to drive without a seatbelt on. Does everyone on earth need to know or make it into a news headline? No. Okay, is sexting a minor wrong? Yes. Does everyone need to know about it? If it was criminal they would be marked as a predator. In addition, there is absolutely nuance (also in a court of law) to sexting someone who is prepubescent versus someone who is 17. Do I still think it’s wrong? Yes. Do I think it’s enough to cancel someone? Not really, no - if they were pre-16 then sure. There are literally states and regions where 17 is legal, even 16. Many 16 or 17 are biologically and mentally mature - are there cases where they’re not? Yeah. This is again, nuance. Laws/NDA’s don’t have much nuance other than proving intent. Humans and our understanding of the world can see nuance both in our experience and collectively. Having “nuance” doesn’t mean the conversation or criticism can’t happen, just means you will actually have a meaningful discussion other than someone just getting angry and hurting others with their anger (this is how adult relationships work, much like it “should” (other than that it’s less dramatic and therefore less entertaining) in how we present ourselves online, often anonymously, on social media, and posting videos/comments).

Because i see a lot of comments from "sheep" saying "when he sees a minor" and copying/pasting/repeating the fck out of their miserable lives, all i have to say is that: - You will never know what this guy deals with so you cannot tell what the hell happened the last 3-4 years (in his deals) that make them "reveal" something from this guy's past (AND whether if it is true AND you'll never know the circumstance of that event (if indeed happened) ) - If he indeed did something bad, there is always room for forgiveness (this is what Jez Christ says too) Because, ... you know what ... YOU may be in his place in the future when the ones you make deals with may hold something "disgusting" of you to reveal to the public's rage ! So people ("sheep") BE WISE when it comes to judge ANYONE online (or offline) !

Kicked off of Twitch but then received millions because they broke the contract. This raises questions about what really went down. Just because a report is made, it doesn't mean it's true. When someone wants to destroy another person's reputation, they can simply make an accusation. The reference to "various authorities" is misleading. Companies are required to report allegations to these agencies, whether the claims are true or false, the moment any accusation is investigated to build a record for future connections for the alleged victim and subject. It's not about someone deeming it serious enough to report; it's a mandatory process. If Twitch didn't report, it would be failing its duty, according to oversight committees. Having worked in this field, I know how easily someone can be labeled without evidence. Most cases, in fact, don't have any evidence, it's just the accusation. I've witnessed both sides: the guilty facing justice and the innocent having their lives ruined. This is why I refrain from jumping to conclusions based on public opinion. I know you streamers are scared and are just going with the narrative. Just shows how little life experience some people have.

My question is this. If the NDA does not cover you from criminal acts, why wasn't doc subject to the court of law had he been attempting to sexually advance on a minor? The other perspective to consider is that doc himself mentions nothing illegal occurred nor was there any wrongdoing. With that being said, could inappropriate be something along the lines of non-sexual advances, such as crude jokes and offensive language? There is a possibility that he is guilty of everything, but the problem is that in order to fully verify the details, the whispers would have to be made public in order to make some kind of established opinion. The bigger issue is that they probably won't release the whispers because of legal reasons and whatnot. I don't support inappropriately messaging minors when it comes to messages containing sexual advances. If Doc actually is guilty of this, he would have to be submitted to a court of law or registered as an offender. The reason why he hasn't is either because nothing illegal actually happened or it's being covered up based on the conspiracy. Don't label me as defending doc though. I just try to see things through full verification rather than siding with the majority

Something most of you don't keep in mind is these types of actions have a large grey area. It's pretty much 100% legal to flirt with someone you know is a minor. You would report it if you saw it, but unless it crosses a specific line, they're not quite out of that area that allows prosecution. It's a bit like talking about all the ways you hope someone passes away vs saying you're going to unalive them in all those ways. The difference between "I hope someone" and "I am going to" is pretty vast, despite both being something you'd be right to have an issue with.

If the DMs to the trans person are true it would make that tweet double funny in retrospect since "leave the kids alone" was both obviously something Doc did not do, but also it was an implication that LGBT people are inherently sexualizing which would be more of an admission on his own preferences.

You can’t blame Twitch for not disclosing Doc as a predator and also say it’s wrong for them to see private whispers. If they couldn’t see the whispers, then they would indirectly be enabling this behavior. Being able to see the whispers allows them to at least monitor it, but they can’t publicly disclose everything since the legal context is very complicated.

This is why I never see any streamer or youtuber as the greatest thing ever. They are all people and will eventually let you down with mistakes OR crimes. Mistakes are more forgivable but those who committed crimes or like Doc could be considered a crime with solicitation of a minor there is almost no way coming back from that unless somehow evidence in the future proves otherwise (but unlikely). This is why you'll never see me in the echo cambers as some follower of a streamer/youtuber like they can do no wrong, we've seen time and time again these people fall super hard.

A good discussion point would also be, should a victim be allowed to take money in exchange for the predator being able to carry on living his normal life? Surely the victim is just allowing others to be a victim to the predator which in itself is like, allowing it to happen. A confusing statement i know but its something that needs addressing.

I think it's funny that people are mad about the fact twitch was reading the "private messages" I'm sure if you were to read the fine print it says they have the right to. "Private message" just means it's going directly to that person and not posted on their public post for everyone to see not that no one can look at it besides that person. I've been following this whole story since it broke and have been trying to weed through all the information coming from various locations. It's hard to know what's real and what is fabricated, what is a whole truth and what is a partial truth, and especially what is possible and not possible by using previous actions, context clues, and various other sources as a guide. It's a wild situation for sure. I genuinely hope that the real, full truth comes out at some point.

Beyond his disgusting behavior, I didn't even grasp why he became so popular, but I imagine him being a former developer carried a lot of clout with it. I'm sad this all happened, not only because a minor was targeted, but influencers were ALREADY being looked at skeptically due to a bunch of bad actors. This exasperates things a lot more, and his initial response of "I DID NOTHING WRONG, ALL PARTIES CAME TO AN AGREEMENT" statement felt sus from the getgo. As I say, Karma always catches up with us.

Pattern of behavior. Guy showed who he was when he embarrassed his family and wife with a random twitch girl who herself LOOKED bàrely legal, regardless of her age, with the cheating scandal. I was calling this out then. The world forgave him, advanced his career, and every time I brought up how young that girl looked as part of the conversation, I was ignored or attacked. Now, here we are. No one cared when it was his wife and children he was harming. No one even seems to care now. Very few people have mentioned how his wife must feel to have gone through another infidelity scandal, but with a miñor this time. His "apology" doesn't even mention his family directly in the apology portion. He showed us who he was, and we ignored it because he was tall, handsome, and funny. Why wouldn't he think he could get away with messaging a minor ōn the communication service of his employer? The largest segment of this video, which focuses on twiīch being the "bad guy,"takes way too much blame off of the perpetrators. As Guy himself mentions, he went through arbitration and reached a settlement with twītch. That means his lawyers and twītch's lawyers agreed to the settlement. It's Guy most of all that doesn't want this to get out, more so than even twītch, and we have no idea if it was him that argued for the NDA around this in settlement. He is the bad guy. He is the one messaging minors and harming his family. We shouldn't take away from that.
