His story about eating 45 eggs a day was really 4 to 5 reminded me of a time when I got back from deployment and walked into the house and wondered what the burning smell was. Funny you should say that because I was watching a Dr Berg video a few days ago here in England and I thought to myself Why on earth were we not taught loads of this in Schools Many years ago. I’m guessing that’s because Big Pharma would or were putting loads of pressure on Governments not to, because if loads of people out there Know this and have this knowledge then Obviously many people are going to be a lot healthier if they run on Fat with a Keto type diet & lifestyles …….. if a few Billion people were doing that and living that way, guys like my ex brother in law back in WV wouldn’t be getting those Big paycheques that He got from working for the Pharmaceutical company in West Virginia that he got when I used to live there. And obviously the Big Pharma CEOs wouldn’t make the Crazy salaries they make. They make a Fortune out of people being sick, and basically keeping them sick.

yes but he is killing you.. he has a little knowledge, if he was properly educated he wouldn't be killing you with BS.. He is speaking far outside his knowledge base.. KETO will kill you... Whole Food low fat plant based diet is what will save your life. You lose weight faster if that is what you want, it will reverse heart disease (keto will not), reverse type 2 diabetes, and many others.. the KETO diet can not do these things.. The Keto diet has been proven to cause a dysbiosis of your gut bacteria which set you up for disease... Think about it this guy is tell you to eat known carcinogens, that alone should raise a red flag. KETO has been debunked... Bloating is a sign of leaky gut and a dysbiosis of your gut microbiome, eliminating vegetables makes that even worse.. He is teaching you BS because he is not educated to know better.

I am a 64 year old woman who, after only five months is experiencing the benefits of fasting and following a low carbohydrate and 'practical keto' eating plan. The first and most important action I took is intermittent fasting-- 16+ hours in a 24 hour period (basically no breakfast). It helps control my hunger in a way I thought would never be possible. I thought that I would never succeed in fasting because of the constant hunger and low energy. I obviously had to my change my whole diet and take out the empty carbohydrates, especially the bread that I was so addicted to. No matter how healthy the bread is, it is still just a carbohydrate which is never going to satisfy your body's needs or hunger cravings; plus, it is going to spike the insulin levels creating all the health problems described above. I had that mid-belly, menopausal belly fat which is mainly gone in just a few months. It also helped to initially get a glucometer to test my blood sugar levels after fasting as well as after eating. I don't test myself too much now, because if I follow the plan of healthy diet, I stay on track. This is not a picnic but it is really working, and now I foresee myself not being 'overly hindered' by bad health in old age. I would just encourage women to start as young as possible. If I can make all these changes at my age, it makes me realize how much stress I would have saved my body by starting younger. I encourage anyone to think of preserving your health in your youth and preventing irreversible damage to your body in your old age.

I stumbled across keto. Watched a ton of videos. Read several books. Then I started slowly changing over to this way of eating. Eliminating bad carbs with good keto foods. 2 years later I'm down 40 lbs (my goal weight), and it's all because of keto. My carb cravings are gone. There are really good replacements for items you miss, bread, pasta, etc. For the people that are losing weight and your frlends ask what you are doing, just say "reducing my carbs". Don't say keto, as normally they will bash it. Find what works for you and stick with it. The health benefits alone is worth the journey. Thanks Dr. Berg, and Dr Jason Fung, you are life changers.

Not everything that Dr Berg say is *TRUE.* Anyone who tells people that eating *FRUITS* is bad for you doesn’t have enough *KNOWLEDGE* about the Human Body. For example, I don’t believe that eating a piece of *Bacon* is healthier for you than eating an *Apple.* _____________________________ Fruits have *FIBER* in them ! That means the Fiber will *slow down* the absorption of sugar into the blood stream. And Fruits have *PREBIOTICS* ! Prebiotics are types of dietary fiber that *FEED* the friendly bacteria in your gut. This helps the *good gut bacteria* to produce nutrients for your colon cells and leads to a *HEALTHIER* digestive system. Some of these nutrients include *short-chain fatty acids* like butyrate, acetate and propionate.

PCOS, Glucose Intolerant, Insulin Resistant, prediabetes, d2 blah blah blah....The health industry (experts in diabetes care) taught me years ago to eat small frequent meals, never skip meals, oatmeal, complex carbs, etc...no matter how hard I tried I could not lose weight, and gained with their advice. Going on keto years ago saved my life, but never lost more than 20 or so. Then stopped. I know a few mistakes I was making (eating too much protein). Now, I'm doing intermittent fasting too. For the first time in my life I can lose weight ...at 60 years old! Wish I knew when I was young. It would have saved me a lot of heartache and bullying!!! My parents advise was horrible too-not that they knew better. Don't eat fat, peel off the skin, eat fruit, use margarine, etc. A couple years ago I went off keto, and ended up with a 14 a1c (surprise surprise), and over 400 sugars after taking steroids for covid etc. Now that I'm back on keto and fasting too, my blood glucose is hovering around 100-115. It didn't take too long for it to go down drastically. You saved my life!!! THANK YOU! Thanks for telling the truth against the grain!!! Shame on them for banning!

I was just diagnosed Type II three days ago *shocked* The reason I went to the E.R. is I had lost 16 lbs. in less than a month which was concerning because I was not dieting. I was also exhausted, sleepy, and very weak. I was 5'9" 170 lbs before the weight loss and have been an athlete my entire life (58 yrs old). My risk factor - both parents were type II diabetic. I was scared to death when I started reading the complications from diabetes but watching this doc's video has given me hope that I can reverse this through diet, exercise, and sleep. I'm on the Keto diet now and hoping to get my energy and strength back soon. Thank you for giving me direction !

Good luck. I've had some family members with it. I would recommend checking out Dr. Mark Hyman's work. It's not necessarily about 'weight' although it can contribute but more about proper nutrition and cutting the sugar. (Diabetes is also called the disease of 'starvation' because of too many empty calories). You can do it. 💪

Im 57 years old. I did keto for 3 weeks a couple of years ago. I was getting achy hips, feeling a bit stiff etc. I heard keto was the anti inflammation diet. 3rd day into keto, those achy hips stopped aching. One side effect I didn't want was losing weight, I was already slim. I eat a lot less carbs now, will have the odd blow out, usually Xmas and the odd treat now and again. Hardly eat bread these days and biscuits rarely pass my lips. It's a good diet. Give it a go if you want to stop aches in the joints and certainly helps with weight loss.

Just as Bill Nye made science more accessible and engaging for a generation of children, Dr. Eric Berg should be credited for making keto, fasting, and nutrition in general more accessible for adults who don't want to sit through hours of presentations, where very learned physicians and researchers employ esoteric terms to communicate very dense material. While I love the granularity and technical detail of these more in depth talks, many of which have been generously uploaded to this channel, for a newcomer to keto and fasting it maybe overwhelming. Whenever I encounter these neophytes, I always direct them to Dr. Berg's terse and straightforward videos. Dr. Berg has probably done more than any other figure in the keto/fasting world to popularize these concepts because of his approachable style. In this sense, Dr. Berg is an indispensable part of our community. Dr. Berg, if you are reading this, thank you for lending your incomparable skills as a teacher to spread this message.

And, your pieces of advice are helping me gain more knowledge. I am a nurse by profession and diabetic. Since I lost 23 kgs through keto diet and intermittent fasting, my HbA1c is now normal. It's been not normal for 6 years since I got diagnosed. And, I was diagnosed as well with fatty liver. Now, all my blood results are all normal including liver enzymes.

Working to maintain my loss and keep my great lab numbers. i am not diabetic so that isn't my issue, but I like that my glucose level decreased from 95 to 70, now is at 82. I am eating more low carb than keto, but continue with my keto practices - IF, OMAD, no snacks. If I get hungry, I eat a mini meal to tide me over until dinner and it works. When I add higher carb foods, it does not help so I have to go keto to lose weight and the bloated feelings. Now I know, I stopped adding them and manage on keto or keto friendly foods. Thank you Dr Berg for being here to help everyone who wants it. You are a hero to the keto community and we refer your videos to everyone who asks questions. @@TheKing-qu8cm John, I also need to gain weight but more importantly protect my brain. I went on keto for 4 months and I lost about 3 lbs in the beginning but stayed steady after that. I was eating A LOT, 2-3 meals and snacking, (like taking spoonful's of olive oil or coconut oil and eating a lot of fat bombs and butter on dark chocolate!). But, I have had 3 abdominal surgeries and definitely have difficulties absorbing my nutrients, thus I need to gain weight. The fact that my weight was steady was very impressive to me. My boyfriend went on it also and he lost over 30 lbs., although he needed to lose weight. I started to bloat a lot so I went off of it. I am going back on because I had wonderful mental clarity. Good news is that I kept a record of what I ate in MyFitnessPal and I will tweak my diet to try to understand what made me bloat at the end.

@Cyril you can't believe how my professor in nutrition class criticized me when I told her I did not drink fat free milk or eat fat free yogurt. She told me quit eating baked coconut chips because coconut oil was bad. Salt was her enemy. She encouraged drinking juice. There were more things she taught in that class I didn't agree so I got a bad grade in that class. She was in her 50s, had her "healthy" diet but an apple shaped body. She was one of the biggest factors I didn't major in nutrition.

17 weeks on KETO diet (1700 calories, 25 grams of proper carbs per day, intermittent fasting and exercise) - down 52 pounds, lost 9 inches in waist so far. Labs back this week - right down the middle, LDL is slightly elevated, but expected due to the recent weight loss (Triglycerides and other markers are well within normal) . Your advice is very helpful. Nutritionally I am on the track and very happy with my results.

Dr Eric Berg, as already mentioned here, is NOT the Harvard trained, Berg But you need not fear that his presentation lacks immense-and accurate-knowledge. I cannot imagine that in his case, and that of someother fine, bright physicians; it makes any difference at all in his ability to see, and teach, the crucial, life-saving truth about a low carbohydrate way of eating. And from what I’ve seen, his knowledge of Human Nutrition far exceeds, at least currently, that of a large number of Ivy League trained MD’s who still worship at the altar of CICO. 😋👍

I wanted to add about the hair loss and nutrition changes on keto. I have issues with shedding and have been researching on my own trying to get mine to stop coming out. I was watching a dermatologists video on shedding and female pattern baldness and she said the most eye opening thing. When the hair is dormant,… when you start its growth cycle back up the hair must be shed. It cannot add onto a hair shaft that was dormant it must let go and start over. So many causes of dormancy to begin with one of which is nutrition but also stress, etc etc. so the cycle is,.. hair goes dormant because of different reasons, different for each individual or scenario, then a life event can occur of huge physical stress then body heals and restarts hair growing thats the shedding. So for example,.. pregnant growing baby the body directs nutrition to baby and much hair goes dormant, then huge life stress aka labour, then body goes into healing then about 1.5-2 months later a massive shedding of hair as hair restarts to grow and panic panic panic whats going on i was “””just feeling great and everything going well why is this happening now?” So the cause of the hair loss happened way before. (For my body stressors are going from summer to winter, from winter to spring. Light changes, as days get longer again i begin shedding going “why?? The fun season is coming up why is my hair falling out now???! Explains so much. Shorter days makes my hair go dormant and also my energy goes down, I hibernate pretty much through winter then spring comes i start feeling better sleeping less and my… my hair starts shedding, i baby it for rest of year finally getting it growing again only for spring again. That’s my pattern, i see this now) So applying that to keto,.. your eating junk and unhealthy, dont realise your head is full of dormant hairs just hanging around, then you start keto, which stresses the body, cravings, where’s the sugar, the body scrambles goes into ketosis, it takes some time to heal and when the body gets enough healing under its belt it starts kickstarting other things for healing like reversing dry skin etc, and one of those things is restarting hair growth. Which means a big shedding period which panics people. The thing is that shedding was gonna happen as the hairs were already dormant when you started keto,…. So that shedding is a sign of a healing body. You’ll have to go through it if your hair was having lots of dormancy. So very important to keep nutrition up always so hair remains in a growth state because thats what keeps it from going dormant and then abnormal shedding. Its part of the healing process and keto doesnt cause the hair loss, its healing the body RESTARTING the hair growth. So 2 reasons the hair came out is the hair follicle died and cant grip the hair in place anymore (balding),.. or the hair shaft is reinvigorated and wants to grow a new one and ejects the old hair. That’s why keto people say look for the baby hairs a few weeks after the big shedding,.. it happens that quick because the hair was reinvigorated and letting go of an old dormant hair shaft. Its alive and well. Hope that helps,.. blew my mind and i hope i understood that dermatologist correctly! It also makes covid shedding make sense,… people who had covid but survived before the vaccines were made,…. They said hair loss some months after was occurring in many many people,…. Well the hair was dormant, life changing event aka fought to survive covid, body healing now finally reached the healing stage to restart hair growth. Its important to keep the hair follicles alive during your healing and your whole life, because if they die its a bald spot. So keep living in a way to keep your cells vibrant at all times. That was my takeaway on hair health. Cheers.

I went vegan for eight months after listening and following Ornish, Bernard, Cleveland Ohio Dr. Esselstyne advice and I nearly died. All those carbs, beans, rice bread, pasta raised my blood pressure and blood sugar. It’s criminal what they are doing to our health and the health of the American people. Obesity, heart disease, diabetes all come from consuming lots of carbohydrates, sugar, starch, bread, pasta which by the way has very little nutritional value and minerals. After God saved my life I went keto and cut out all bread, pasta, beans, rice. I reduced my carbs to under 50 grams a day and let me tell you my health returned back to normal within weeks. I felt remarkable, lots of energy and my mood became great. The American people are in great danger when following these “so called” doctors. I pray for our people because they are being lied to and lead like sheep to the slaughter house. God Help Us!

i'm 45 and still weigh what I did in my 20s. a lot of people ask me for advice on how to loose weight and keep it off. I always tell them the same thing, "food is fuel", if you treat food as fuel, it becomes pretty natural to maintain your ideal body weight. Don't snack, eat a larger meal so you aren't hungry an hour later. yes, eating is enjoyable, but it shouldn't be a constant indulgence. and for the of all that is good in the world, stop drinking soda, Coffee drinks, energy drinks, and caffeine. Caffeine boost you motab and results in one eating excess. and don't be afraid of fat, it is the preferred fuel of the body. you don't put regular unleaded in you diesel truck, so stop putting the wrong fuel in your body. But also indulge once in a while, when you eat healthy, you deserve a treat once in a while.

So when I posted a title to his very good pizza recipe that many people had requested of me, the moderator froze the comments. I don't tolerate that type of nonsense, and left that group. I believe in Dr. Berg, and believe he is/has probably prolonged many peoples lives by the videos he is putting out. I wish him only good things, and selling products is one of probably several ways for him to provide for his family. Don't see anything wrong with that at all.

Because he is no longer relevant but keeps the old bad info on his YTC just for monetization (even smoothies where he include mangos along other fruits or even bananas ! even thou he says he dose not recommend bananas in general or smoothies but yet he dose give you recipes for/with both...). His advice is very good for a beginner (like it was for me 3 and half years ago) but along the way you realize that some advice (just the base low carb & IF info are ok) he has do not apply or are just wrong, so it's better to see a science based information like from real doctors (see the diet doctor com website and the doctors there & here on this YTC). Dr Eric Berg unfortunately has a lot of videos on important subjects (that he has not real understanding off not being an MD) and has no true solutions at those, has even based on bad info, that at the surface its sounds good as a general view or are just popular (or apply to most cases usually obese people and their habits). Like the "healthy keto" that is believed to be with tones of veggies and even fruits, but have no actual science to back it up (on the contrary lots of people are intolerant to it), its just the old believe that they are full of vitamins so they must be good even thou they are not really bio available to humans, especially raw (he still dose recommends that, the kale and everything). For instance his well know advice to "eat 7-10 cups of veggies a day" is actually so wrong for lots of people (but is a popular, a myth, that sound good), but nope, not a good advice with all the anti nutrients and all that bad stuff that comes with it (well the fermented once, the pickles are a very different story). not to mention the horrific unscientific (quite the opposite) views that he has on microwaves, also quite popular and again sound good (most people have no idea...) for lots of people, so he keeps it among his videos still. That is very disappointing to see (he needs to make a living but there is a line) so here is why all the hate.
