Dr. Hammer recently finished reading "The Complete Researcher" by Drs. Hook, Davis, & Van Tongeren (2024) and wanted to share his reactions to several of the useful suggestions offered in the first part of the book, "Principles: Building Yourself Into a Successful Researcher", which consists of chapters about motivation, community, building expertise, setting goals, developing habits, cultivating positive beliefs, nurturing the mind-body connection, and navigating adversity during the research process.
