so will the patient ever recover completely?
@musomaster9027
@musomaster9027 2 жыл бұрын
@@iLastStar Thiamine would help any further damage happening, but the brain damage is essentially permanent. The brain may reform new synapses and pathways, but it's unlikely to recover completely. That's why whenever chronic alcoholics come to the emergency department they're assertively given thiamine to prevent wernicke's encephalitits and then the eventual Korsakov.

You never ever, EVER talk back, complain or coment negatively on what they are doing or they could fail you or worse, they will remember you when it's time for your rezidentials and job interview. The instructors are usually heads of their departments and department heads usually last for a decade or two in their jobs so the guy you where a smartass too years ago will probably be your BOSS or the factor on whether you will or not GET A JOB. Yeah, I guess he meant that as a symptom and not the disease its self. The name of the condition, it starts with a "K", I cannot remember the name. Sounds Russian/Ukrainian. Confabulation is a manifestation of the condition.

My uncle was a severe alcoholic when I grew up also always hateful. One day I met with him not by choice and his memories were misplaced and swears completely about facts about our childhood things that were false with a hint of truth. My family had a dog a rottie and he thought we had 2 as a kid i fact we had 1 when I was barely an adult. It was interesting and sad how his mind was damaged by alcohol also he was trying to set me up with my aunt sexually at that point I left. Alcoholism is no joke.

People think house is mean but if most of the physicians on this show acted the way they do in a real setting. Theyd just be fired. There wouldn't be any fighting and eventually learning from their mistakes Obviously here they are students but the main cast is full of trained physicians. Their behaviour is down right ridiculous. House's attitude and behaviour almost seems like copeing from having to deal with horrible physicians everyday.

Tbh, comparing those students to me and my colleagues at their age, they seem either pretty dumb or supposed to be on their 2nd/3rd year out of 6. If the latter is the case, then it's good they had a class with him so early.

They choose the character and behavior of the students, so House can be a smartass douche to them, and we'll still root for him. Writing. Same reason most patients on the show are idiots (in some variation). It's not really realistic, i mean the amount of testing they do on some cases alone, it's after all still a tv show. Pointing out where the show does not match our boring reality is a bit pointless.
