The cost of veterinary care has become so expensive. I call this economic euthanasia....namely, people having to put their animals to sleep because they can't afford the proper care and treatment. This has become a greater problem than overpopulation. It's a topic on which Dr. Jeff is very passionate, and he explains the situation in more detail in this video.@DrJeffPPI

There are many of us who would love to adopt an animal companion.. But we can't afford it. It's keeping animals in shelters and lonely people, lonely. I wonder when this economic euthanasia starts to move to people. It could happen. Looking around, our lives are getting smaller and smaller while for certain groups, it's getting richer and richer. Thank you for caring about animals and those who love them.

Amen Dr. Jeff, don't apologize for anything! This is exactly what is happening to veterinary medicine (industry). I went to the same "old school" vet for 30+ years. I was heartbroken when he retired. He tried to transition the practice to one of his younger vets, but he ended up selling out to a corporate practice within a year. I've never gone back and I've "tried out" a couple of other vets and none of them come close to the skill and practical approach of Dr. Anderson.

This recently happened with one of the practices the rescue I volunteered with used. First thing they did was raise all their prices. Second thing they did was eliminate discounts for rescues and shelters. My personal vet owns one of the last vet-owned practices in the area. She's close to 70 and I dread when she retires. My Chi's tumor removal was around $650, I am lucky enough to have a vet like Dr. Jeff talks about, good, rather bare bones, lower cost. Even his oncologist tries to keep expenses down. Human and animal medicine have both become out of reach, which is truly sad in an advanced society.

Thank you for sharing this. Another good option is to contact a holistic veterinarian. Even if there is not one in the area that you live, one can do an online search and call them. Some of these vets will do PHONE CONSULTS. You can call their office and set up an appointment over the phone. The ideal is to bring the pet in, but if that's not possible... the phone consult works. I've done this multiple times over the years and had good results at VERY reasonable costs. Holistic veterinarians are REAL vets but will include other remedies many times such as homeopathy, herbs, etc... instead of, or in addition to, antibiotics or steroids, etc.. Best to you and your companion animals.

Dr Jeff, I retired last year after 34 years with Hills. Visiting vet clinics every day and seeing animals saved was a wonderful life fir an animal lover like me. But I saw how corporate industry was taking over the profession and how Mars will basically own the vet industry soon. It’s a real shame because most vets are truly committed but they have no control anymore. I would encourage everyone to support local independent clinics.

They are becoming increasingly hard to find. Mars is the largest player, but increasingly, smaller investors are getting into the game. From their perspective, one where profit is the only thing that matters, the loss in volume of clients is more than made up for in higher bills for the remaining clients. For them, it's win-win. Less clients, less employees required, and less space required. That it will result in the increase of suffering and death for more animals is not a consideration.

Nobody should be put in a situation to have to euthanize their beloved family member because they cant obtain veterinary care at a reasonable and fair cost. Thank you for speaking to this . I've been to the ER several times with rescue cats and gotten this every time from the vets "it's going to be close to 10,000 to try and save this animal, either you're all in at 10,000 or we talk euthanasia." Not " hey we can do these few things and then check back in" no, it's always this same speech. And a non-profit rescue doesn't have that kind of money just laying around when the vets are almost pushing us to just euthanize. It's always given me a bad taste in my mouth.

That's happening already. A rescue I know regularly takes in cats with advanced disease or infections, gets the care they need, and holds fundraisers for the vet bills. Not only that, she matches senior cats with senior citizens and pays for all their needs.

why didn't you look up some alternative pain/arthritis remedies? If the dog was healthy except for the arthritis, you could and should have had the initiative to do something different. There are other ways besides prescription medication of dealing with arthritis. Most pet parents don't seem to want to do anything beyond what was told to them by the vet. And in my experience, a lot of times it's done for profit and not for the well being of the animal. Question what they tell you. And you shouldn't be going back to that same vet clinic for doing that to your dog.

We have to drive 100 miles to the 2 clinics who are working with us. Non of the vets around here is helping. What a shame. It's not only the vets, people need to change their attitude about animals. Here is so much neglect and cruelty. People move away and leave the pets behind, let them breed and dump the kittens or pregnant cats. And all the backyard breeders....It's just awful and very frustrating. It's a lack of education. I hope Dr. Jeff can train many vets who want to work for low cost spay and neuter. I'm in western WA. Vet care is critically short for us too. The shelters are overflowing with animals and frequently turn animals away. It can take months to get your pets spayed and neutered and the corporate prices are getting towards $1000 to get it done. Teeth cleaning $4,000+. I was quoted a minimum of $6,000+ for my cat's dental work. Couldn't afford that so now his teeth fell out and he's having gastric issues. There's a list of all emergency vets and wait times for WA you can access online. There have been times when the nearest vet ER to us on the west side has been Spokane! That is utterly ridiculous! Thanks for speaking up. Something has to change.. many people cannot afford the care of their pets and they suffer…it’s very frustrating and sad. I was quoted $7500 for surgery on my dog for exploratory surgery.. I was told to bring full amount when I drop him off.. and should it require more money I would have to pay upon pickup. Thus, my baby has not had the procedure. I worry everyday. Worse thing is that they would not discount to help me out or accept a payment plan… how many people have that much money available?? This was very informative. Thanks Dr Jeff. Please do another video on this topic as updates are available..I’m willing to do my part…going to a Vet for a preventative checkup cost $96 just for a quick look over… then anything extra done is charged separately…All I hear is how Vets love animals and want to help them. Well that may be true for some but it is not for all…they are money motivated and if you cannot afford to pay then tough…To get my little guy surgery I was told to apply for Care Credit. You have to pay full balance in 6 months.. no interest. If you do not interest will then be charged at a rate that more than doubles your monthly payment! Sounds illegal…And you cannot extent the 6 months to 24 as they offer….they play on your emotions because of the live you have for your pets…Just to bring them in for a nail trim.. $25 plus $96 for the visit per visit per pet….also, if your pet must be put down….that’s even unaffordable…issues have come up about meds they use to put an animal down. Very shady. I’m for serious Changes… I was so distraught I contemplated coming to see you. Actually it’s still on the table. With the plane fare and hotel fares, it’s still more affordable than what they charge here for the surgery..

Wish I had seen this when it came out. Here's my 2 cents. My decades old family vet sold out to one of those corporate groups. Prices immediately went up, most of the long term staff quit and went elsewhere except one vet. Your credit card is scanned before anything is done with the animal instead of settling up with the receptionist afterward. I was waiting in a treatment room reading a list of 'Employee Rules'. Believe it or not, one of the posted rules is that 'Employees are not allowed to say negative things about corporate'. To be honest, if you have to post that as a rule, SOMETHING IS WRONG. The final straw came when I recently had one of our dogs put to sleep. After the procedure and we're all crying, saying our last goodbye, the tech comes in and places a sheet of paper on the table next to our dead dog and says, "Here's your invoice". . . WHAT!? Absolutely no couth or empathy. Time to find a new vet.

I noticed that taking my pet to veterinary several years ago were costing as much as I would have to pay to go to the doctor and pay out of pocket. Vets are in it for the $$, not for the love of animals. It just plain greed. In 2016 I took my male cat in because he couldn't urinate. The animal hospital hooked him up to a cafeter for a week, and said he was still blocked so they tried another week 24 hr care, then they told me he needed surgery to shorten his urinary tube. By the time they were done it cost me $5,440.00. Another time I took my Ferret in because he was ill they looked at him, gave me some liquid food and a syringe to feed him and sent him home with me. It cost me $330.00. The next day he died in my lap as I held him. I thought I'd save money when my other cat got sick so I took him to the SPCA clinic. He died 2 weeks later. ASPCA clinics are good for vaccinations, spay, and neuter services and that's it. VCA of America clinics are good but it will cost you a fortune. I no longer have respect for vets that just plain rip you off, they're in it to get wealthy like regular doctors.

This is SPOT ON! My sister and I were just talking about how the cost of having a pet as a family member is getting out of control. Soon there will be too many pets and not enough families that can afford them and, as stated, loads of pets that go without care. Shame on the system that allows this.

What a wonderful idea for the Humane Society to open up hospitals all across America that would provide quality, low-cost care. I can't imagine having to put down one of our pets because we couldn't afford a surgery or procedure. Our old vet retired and since the new vets have taken over the practice, prices have gone up dramatically. I wonder now if it's being run by a large corporation. I'm gonna find out and switch vets if so. Thanks for your very informative video. I just subscribed to your channel.

I'm in the same boat @ 67yo. Instead, I donate to my local ASPCA as they practice TNR and they are overfilled with newborn cats & dogs. I wish I could give more. Like you, I had a sweet cat but had to put Tigger to sleep a few years back. I only took him as the person who couldn't take care of him asked me if I would. I couldn't say, "No." I never knew so much love. Nothing would make me happier than to be able to afford healthcare for my pet(s) but like human healthcare, it's too expensive. Now, both humans and animals suffer. Private Equity firms & their greed are ruining our lives; both human and animals.

@@ShikokuFoodForest Just the price increases in vet care an the crazy treatments being recommended. I worked for a vet about 30 years ago. I have family that have had vets in the past 15 years recommend surgery and amputations and chemo therapy on old animals that are near the end of their lives. That kind of extreme care is not appropriate for old animals. It is much kinder to provide palliative care when you have an old animal that has been diagnosed with cancer or some other serious fatal condition. Veterinarians need to be honest with the expected disease progression and not recommend these treatments when they will not extend the life of the animal and cause them pain and discomfort.

@@GO-xs8pj Hello. Thank you for sharing. I’m not completely familiar with all the changes in how the practice of veterinary medicine has changed over the years, but I have even noticed significant changes here in the countryside of Japan (I’m Canadian) where I live. 7years ago, I was fortunate to find a small, personal 1-vet clinic where the personal service and care was top notch. The vet was especially kind and prices were very reasonable. Unfortunately, he retired about 5 years ago. A very young vet took over the practice and the care wasn’t the same. I just visited a new vet clinic yesterday to ask if they provide dental scaling for cats. They do, but I was shocked at the price. They need to administer general anesthesia first which I understand. I was quoted $500, which I guess is not outrageous, but the price was much higher than expected just to scrape calculus build up from the molar teeth. For now, I’m wondering if the benefits of getting my cat’s teeth cleaned outweigh the stress of general anesthesia and going to the hospital for the day. What I really noticed with this animal hospital was that it is a huge business with 8 veterinarians and all the latest medical equipment. To me, it just seemed like the entire focus is on charging outrageously high prices for any procedure. Of course no one can get insurance here. I completely agree with you. It makes you wonder the motivation of some of these veterinarians today if they are recommending all kinds of surgeries and treatments on an elderly pet. FYI, I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was much younger. I have mixed feelings about the practice now.

Our corgi ended up eating something and ended up with a bowel obstruction and aspiration pneumonia. Our bill ended up being $10,000 for treating her. We are retired but were fortunate to be able to afford the cost of treating her at the emergency ER. I can't imagine what it is like to not be able to afford that. It was worth it to us but still put a sizable dent in our savings. Our regular vet is still affordable but is so busy that it was impossible to get her in to be seen, even with this emergency which is why we ended up at the ER.

I live in Canada and the same thing is happening here. My small community Vet practice that I had been taking my dogs to for 30 years morphed into a “corporate” Vet clinic. The old Vet back in the day was a reasonable, no nonsense kind of guy (like you) often prescribing at home remedies. My elderly dog has had some health issues in the last 2 years and have spent at least $5-6K and they wanted more for numerous tests. As a senior with health issues of my own this has been a huge expense for me. At one point I paid over $1,200.00 to have a simple UTI treated because the Vet ordered more tests than necessary but missed doing a urinalysis resulting in a 10 day delay in treatment. Too busy focussing on the “up-sell.” I asked them if pet ownership is only for the wealthy. I love having a companion dog but once my little guy passes I can’t afford another pet.

100% agree. I’m my community daily, there are people trying to dump there animals at the shelter, so much so that the shelters here in Los Angeles have turned people away and are killing for room. They are euthanizing 1 year old dogs and puppies just for room. Last week in 1 shelter they euthanized 20 healthy dogs. All this because people can no longer afford to take care of them and it breaks my heart. I just try to offer support and guide my neighbors services: to low cost vets, pet food drives, eviction protection, emotional support protections against evictions. All these services are awesome, but very inconvenient. What working class person, working 2 jobs has time to stand in line for $20 bag of dog food. We need convenient, fast, inexpensive services and support as well as legal assistance for people at risk of eviction due to their pets. As a community the only way we can save the animals in our community is by supporting each other.

I figured this out last spring when things so drastically changed at my formerly locally owned and trusted large and small animal veterinary practice. The difference is attitudes and treatment happened overnight and was a nightmare -- even to the point of withholding my 17 year old lab's lifelong incontinence medication refill because her annual exam (that they've never required previously) was due LATER THAT MONTH. This was the final straw after a series of bizarre interactions. I was prompted to do some research to see if I could find any clues and sure enough, the practice was recently bought out by a globalist corporation. I will not be extorted by these evil people. They have no shame.

So relatable. I have a 5 year old rescue I adopted in Feb 2020. She was my 2nd dog. My first dog could go to yearly vet checks. She could go have her nails cut and her glands expressed. She got vaccinations, and regular preventative care. She even got her teeth cleaned a number of times plus got spayed and had a tumor removed at one point. I took her to an eye specialist and even that was affordable. I was able to afford all that and still feed her premium raw food and treats. This time it's completely different. My current dog came to me spayed and vaxxed. Other than that she has not been to a vet while in my care. Partly because it was the pandemic and partly because all this has gotten prohibitively expensive. When I adopted I had no idea vet prices were going to skyrocket like this. The solution for me is to study how to do almost everything myself except for surgery. I make my own raw dog food and supplement with some good quality Grass fed green tripe. I learned what medicines they give for heart worm and figured out how to get it at the feed store and measure out the ivermectin myself by my dog's weight. I read the Whole dog Journal to learn how to care for my dog's minor ailments. When I had to travel out of the country I took the dog with me and got her teeth cleaned for the equivalent of 50$ including anesthesia. It's only in the USA that capitalism has made our lives so much worse. Investors, stocks and vet clinics needing continuous growth and profit for shareholders seems contradictory in terms of why vets practice medicine in the first place. It should pay a living wage but it should also be accessible by most everyone.

Now they want you to do something like financing so you get to pay third party dictated interest rates and best have a cosigner if making under $35K a year or have had any payments default in the past. It's basically like Money Mart payday loans except with pets and vet hospitals. Mars Pet Inc has bought up many clinics the past few yrs too so less vet clinic options to pick from too. I've had so many issues with vets making ridiculous mistakes or having such a big ego they can't even offer a simple apology and resolution when they mess up too, like I get there's high demand but if they can't even take proper care of patients then why are we paying such inflated prices for this? The oversight colleges are a joke too, good luck ever getting anywhere. Idk, it breaks my heart.

The new buyer/vet moved his practice to a fancier building in a posh location and raised the prices thru the roof. I told the Vet I went to just give me the blood tubes and I will send them to the lab in Kansas and do it myself!! She finally relented and sent my dogs blood out for antibody testing, guess what my dog has her immunity to several diseases and didn't need further shots. When the test results came back she said, "I don't know what these results mean but ultimately it's up to you what shot you give your dog." I said, "REALLY??? As a Vet you can't read the blood results?? I'm an RN and I can so why can't you??" It's just disgusting, they'd rather make our pets toxic then god forbid use some holistic methods.

I retired after 43 yrs as a practicing vet, and have to agree with many of your points. Unfortunately the schools aren’t doing a great job of teaching surgery (or the students don’t seem interested in it), so many procedures that could be done in general clinics are automatically sent to the specialty clinics. And though the increased salaries that the corporate practices offer help with the debt that today’s students have often accumulated, it makes it very difficult for many smaller practices to hire any new vets. No easy answers for a great profession that genuinely wants to help animals.

Thank you for your honesty. Being in a orphaned and abandoned neonate rescue for the past 11 years. this is critical we don't and can't use corporate get clinics. We are 100% volunteer and 100% donation run. I see the young adults that have basically grown up in the rescues understanding this. They are working for non profit clinics while going to vet school . I personally think if students were required to work in rescues and non profit clinics before graduating from vet school. There would be a lot more fight for lower cost options. We are a very rescue small. With a bout 75 volunteers. During the height of the pandemic we were able to save almost 600 kittens and puppies. Last year was less but still hundreds of lives were saved and homed. Also because of the years of experience with neonate kittens and puppies from birth to five weeks on intake. We have a much higher infant survival rate then most rescues. There was a time not long ago when vets would ask us for advice. Vet students don't spend a lot of time on neonates. Now we and others rescues are doing a lot of partnerships with the universities vet dept in our area. This partnership helps us afford treatment and surgeries that in the past would have been impossible. We work closely with TNR groups, good Samaritans and high kill shelters. So as you can tell affordable vet care is very close to my heart.

One of the kids goes to vet school, they get puffed up with classes on how to make a vet practice more profitable, they come out and take over their parents' practice and it turns into a money grab without investors taking over. My mother took her dogs to a local vet who was reliable, and was by no means hurting. One of his kids took the practice over and the costs doubled or tripled with constant recommendations for other services or products.

This older Vet told my sister the dog she adopted did not have parvo just by checking him out and his symptoms but my sister panicked and gave the dog up to Humane Society. At first they wanted nothing to do with the poor dog because they figured he had parvo and so they didn't want the dog anywhere near their compound/ shelter. My sister went above their heads and finally they made an appointment with her to bring the dog in. They were telling her" oh! he has parvovirus for sure we're gonna need to put him down. Who ever the person on top of them is ,lprobably told them to run some tests and wouldn't you know it he did not have parvovirus. It was colitis like the other Vet had told my sister. The dog is fine and being put up for adoption. He's a Corfu. Not a Welsh Corgi but another type. Beautiful dog. But those young people at the Humane Society we're gonna put him down without even knowing what was really wrong with the poor dog and I told my sister that since she couldn't handle the poor dog being sick then , she shouldn't adopt anymore from kijiji. Thank for this video doctor . Not too many Vets are honest like you. I know it's bad over there too but Canada takes the cake for bad and dishonest Vets. 👋 from 🇨🇦.

We have just one little seventeen year old rescue dog and recently requested he had a tooth removed for which I was quoted a deposit of over £800, and warned that this would be a mere dent in total cost should he require further surgery. In view of the fact that he already has dementia which could be exacerbated by anaesthetic we have decided on a different route. I do not see older dogs in shelters ever finding a home. Dr. Jeff, you're speaking the Truth. Too many animals suffer and are put to death because of Money. I was a Vet Tech. for 45 years and you're right about many ways to fix health issues for animals. New Veterinarians would be well served to be fostered and trained under you. People don't understand that new Veterinarians still need to be exposed to the how of practice and medicine. All the new medical equipment is nice but the old practical way of treating problems works and people can afford it.if offered. Pet animals are very important for people, and they shouldn't have to kill their companion because they don't have $10,000.00 when, in reality, $2000.00 to $3,000.00 or less could have saved their pet. I was in practice from 1971 to 2016. I've seen a lot, and I know there are many ways to approach a medical and surgical issue for our pets. It's unfortunate that Veterinariary Schools teach only the top tier of treatment and don't offer anything else, when we all know there are many ways to approach any medical problem and most of them solve the medical or surgical issues. To me it's just sad because I know there are many options and they are not being offered. I'm glad you're vocal about this problem. I can tell if bothers you like it bothers me. Too many animals die because of this issue, and it's not right.

I was at an emergency vet once where my dog had surgery. I came every day to visit my dog. One day while I was visiting on a Sunday, 2 church ladies came in with a cat. They said they were driving home from services when they saw the cat get hit by a car. The driver of that car never stopped to help. But the church ladies pulled over and put the cat in their car and brought it to the emergency vet. They told the church ladies to pay or take the cat elsewhere. Of course, no other vet services are open on Sundays except emergency vets. The vets did not even offer to put the cat to sleep (about $250) in order to stop its suffering. The church ladies were not prepared to pay at that time. So they left in tears, still carrying the poor cat wrapped in a sweater. I didn’t know what had happened until after they left and the receptionist told me what happened. I didn’t have much money after paying for my dog”s surgery, but perhaps several of us in the waiting room could have put $50 toward having the cat euthanized. I just think that sometimes, when suffering is involved, the rules need to bend or be reevaluated.

AMEN! DR. JEFF, I hope you and your legacy live on forever. Low income folks could really use a spokesperson like you for their health care in so many over-looked areas. But that's an entirely different soap-box, so to speak. Keep up the inspiring messages and work. It is much appreciated.

Dr. Jeff: I'm so glad to hear from you on this topic. I have been watching your show on Animal Planet over the years. I saw all that hard work & dedication you & the ppl you hired made sure that both humans and their beloved pets are happy. It's beyond words how highly I think all your work is. To put quality of life above the almighty $ today is soooo refreshing!! I think you and your family are saints! I would love to adopt a kitty but live on fixed income myself & can't afford huge vet bills. I donate instead to those very organizations that do TNR like local ASPCA--like you suggest. I am so glad to hear your thoughts on this important topic. I am so happy to hear something is being done about this on-going problem.

THANK YOU! I won't go into my own rant because it's repetative to what's been posted. I've been a cat and dog rescue volunteer and foster for over 40 years. We have the only human health care for profit business model in all of the developed countries of the world. We've seen the price in healthcare of that model. Even dentistry and chiropractic are corporatized. I have two 15 year old dogs since they were puppies. Being pet health care savvy, I was outraged when I was told one of those, for whom I'd specifically asked for dental care, "$5,000 of testing and treatment or euthanize." For a single tooth removal? Welcome to what Dr. Jeff calls Wall Street vet practice.

Exactly what happened at the clinic I went to for about 20 years. I can no longer afford them. I had to find a new vet that I trusted.

I had a wonderful miniature dachshund who swallowed part of a rope toy and got a bowel obstruction. I had to drive her an hour out of the major city I live in to get emergency to save her. A few years later, she suddenly showed signs of bowel obstruction again, but hadn't gotten into anything that would have caused it. The emergency vets near me refused to see her because they were at capacity. Again I drove her an hour out of town for help. She died in my arms as I was walking her into the veterinary clinic. Scar tissue from the first surgery had caused an obstruction. That was more than 2 years ago and writing this is hard to do. I've talked with several vets since then and they all tell the same story. There aren't enough vets for the pets. The points you make are valid, but they are seeing a supply and demand problem. We need to encourage more people to enter the field.

I just hope that the traditional vets realize that more and more pet parents WANT a holistic vet and practice.

I wish profit didn't come into play with medical care for humans and animals. You shouldn't have to choose food or caring for your pet. I know my pets are my children, and I'd do anything for them, but it's just difficult. I'm going to be a new grad this year, and am wondering what the field will be like when I'm in there. I try to stay away from corporate practice because of what they are doing to veterinary medicine. Hopefully the field will find a solution sometime soon.

Check with local or Mobile, Spay/ Neuter Clinics. They typically give shots and micro chips at more reasonable rates. Also check with local or County Animal Control to see when they hold their Shot Clinics, check with neighboring counties, cities and towns too. Good luck

Search for PetIQ, Petco Vaccine clinics, Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinics or Low Cost Mobile Clinics in your area. I'm a vet in Arizona, work at a large humane society we just did a mobile vaccine blitz at Food 4 Less grocery stores, vaccinated 455 animals in one day. Rabies in our public clinic is 25 bucks, no exam fee but your dog or cat will still get a veterinarian exam prior to the vaccine of course.

Dr. Jeff, this is why I can’t afford to get another pet. I lost a dog in December 2022 another one in June 2023 and another one last week. All three of my dogs are gone and I am still $5000 in debt with that bills. I cannot afford to get another dog. It just kills me. Thank you for everything you do.

Thanks for sharing this information. My daughter is a high school senior interning at an equine hospital and looking at a teaching Zoo for the academic year. I knew about this problem as I work in finance. We have a local vet for our animals that is not private equity run but see the competition inside the corporate run facilities. The pricing differentials are substantial. Our vet is amazing affordable and practical. We need more like that.

Keep voicing this Dr Jeff! I just said the other day they are pricing seniors and low income out of having pets. The seniors depend on their pets for mental health and companionship. Unfortunately these young vets are in a great deal of debt coming out of school. One of the solutions is to have college reform from the top down and quit charging our kids insane prices for schooling.

❤ Dr. jeff. 35, 40 years ago I got regular vet care for all my animals because the old time vets were reasonable. Now, I dont anymore. Just two weeks ago my friend had a cat in crisis and I called at least 10 vets and no one would see him. I finally found one that begrudgingly would see him but the money they wanted was beyond our money supply so we had to do the hard thing. All my local clinics are these big fancy new buildings with expensive state if the art equipment. We cant afford it anymore. We love you Jeff!!!!!

What could be the reason 10 different vets couldn't help? I don't get that. The problem we have here in Ameruca is that corporations and their CEOs are buying out all kinds of what used to be small, mom/pop businesses and taking them over. Prices increase and customer service goes out the window. It's happened in all kinds of industries. Corporate greed. It's in the housing market, rental market, healthcare insurance, dental offices, and now here I learn with vet care clinics. Profit over life is what our country stands for today. It's only because a saint like Dr Jeff is trying to fight back that we may see some success and bring some happiness into our lives with our beloved pets--getting the affordable care that they need & we deserve.
