Yes, there's research evidence showing it can help, to some extent. Neurological conditions are generally difficult to treat, but stem cell therapy may still offer the best hope there is at this point.

Can stem cells extend female fertility and delay menopause? Can mesenchymal stem cells differentiate into egg cells?

Thank you for your question. There indeed have been animal studies showing that stem cell treatment can extend female fertility, improving ovary size, number of follicles as well as pregnancies. It also improved the hormone levels closer to younger levels including estrogen, FSH, LH. No mesenchymal stem cells cannot differentiate into eggs - germ cells (eggs and sperm) are of a completely different lineage and came to be during embryogenesis.

It has been shown to be helpful, although the studies I have seen use injections into the eyes and the time of treatment is close to the time of injury.

And be very cautious about cortisone shots, as while cortisone can give you temporary relief, it also destroy your bones, accelerating the need for joint replacement.

Toughts on cold showers/ice bath post stem cells? Ice bath create cell death so I would not wanna risk killing the new cells with that, but cold showers? Having lower inflammation so the stem cells might work better, as you said

I would not anticipate cold showers or ice baths to damage stem cells… they are a lot more vibrant and robust than that. The body is smarter than that. The damage and senescent cells would usually be the first one to go. And a clarification: acute inflammation (such as in acute heart attack, stroke or sports injury) can damage the cells, but chronic elevated inflammation can often make the cells work harder thus achieving greater results. Inflammation in general though, can damage cells as they are ramped up to fight it… as you can see, it’s not a simple “good or bad,” and there are many nuanced layers to this particular issue…

@@JoyKongMD so doing cold showers few weeks before (or better ice bath) would increase healing due to stem cells got less inflammation to fight, alright.. Great!

@@stefanallard3084 I have not seen research on inflammation levels after cold showers so cannot comment on that But like I said, higher level of inflammation could trigger the cells to reach greater activity levels and benefits. So I cannot say that less inflammation is necessarily better for achieving therapeutic goals.

There have only been limited success looking at existing studies on stem cell therapy for glaucoma, with direct injections into the eye causing high rate of adverse effects. There are a number of ongoing studies but no published results yet.
