Keyu is so pretty, well spoken and smart. Great insight into the Chinese system, the west denounced as CCP. Simple fact is education and modernisation have uplifted Asia two centuries later than the west. Singapore uses the same meritocratic style of government, the PAP, openly praised by the UK and USA. I pray that Africa and India will follow soon to eliminate mass poverty there.

The economic relationship between US and China is like the relationship between man and woman. You can’t live with them and can’t without them. China is a “ cheat “ , “closed” and “ manipulative “ and yet a humongous potential market. China on the other side has used the western world as an export market and took off its economy through WTO and now trying to convert its economy into domestic and consumption economy as it is no longer needs western market to strike. I really don’t do not believe the fact that BRI was designed to help the globe opening China, certainly not for developing counties like Africans.BRI to me is a means to exploit African resources to the most, for instance. Every American company still complains the closeness of China and repatriating their money.

Keyu’s early years were probably spent in Washington where her father worked at World Bank and later at IMF. Or else, she could have gone to international school somewhere. Even if she had stayed in China, her family could have easily employed a live-in native speaker governess. More importantly the way forward for the U.S. is to face and rectify its centuries of unresolved domestic social issues. Its fixated mindset is corrupted by old conservative WM who still control big business & political leadership across the country. They have historically imprinted their ideological cultural perspectives as the standard obfuscating historical facts on many subjects, similar to CCP propaganda. Presently losing influence over their younger generation and growing non-white minorities is why you are witnessing growing nationalism, fear mongoring and demagoguery, inflaming political & social conflict. When the US comes to face its own history without obfuscation & resolve its original sin to complete Reconstruction through education it will realize self-dignity, respect others and learn better means of social-economic prosperity

I think the 2 world views: that from MSM and what is actually happening in China is like: in a class dominated by a group of students who spend most of their time in the football field and you have a small group of students who are very focus on study; name calling and bullying start to happen when the latter get the top grades and the former sees the latter as an existential threat to their influence and dominance. The former could try to make the latter like them by using drugs and girls. They had done that before. It worked previously, but it is not working now. It is going to be ugly with more bullying and nane calling, if not fighting.

@1Arfin their manufacturing quality is made to foreign company specifications. If you ever go there or read about China/West manufacturing prod dev infrastructure you will understand finished product quality by company directives not by origin of country. A good example is the quality of U.S. automobile manuf during the 70s-2010s. Germany and then Japan became the higher quality manf whether or not their products were made in U.S. or country of origin. If you want quality you have to be an expert on product selection or just pay more for it.

That's holding a $55 trillion dollar in debt in real estate and overbuilding projects that don't generate revenue. In addition, the government is using the Chinese social and medical services funds to pay off its debts. Even stealing people money's insides their own banks.
