Dr. Michael Levin's work inspired me to start switching from a generic software development career to Bioinformatics. Really hope to contribute in this field soon.

Thanks for getting this amazing man on. I've just discovered his work yesterday and am devouring everything I can. And I love your open, casual podcasting style. Lovely to discover you too.

But he's very smart, I find that I get tired after listening for long. He probably has a much better than average developed brain.

The observation that you can't tell from a genome what the animal is going to look like reminded me of Hume's argument that you can't predict anything from reason alone but only by comparing one experience with another. It points to our misunderstanding of cause and effect.

47:06 life and death - anyone have the reference for this paper? Edit - found it - 'Life, death and self: fundamental questions of primitive cognition ... ' 2021 and of course it is paywalled and to 'rent' it for 48 hrs you have to pay $ 41.95 ; a personal subscription to the journal is $4,529/yr. Dear Scientists, If you want to support frugal science and citizen science, please stop publishing in paywalled journals, especially Elsevier journals.

What I like about your interviews is that they are a bit technical. Yes, that's a good thing. There's too many dumbed down videos and presentations of all kinds.

When he talks about altering the memory and preception of the cells rather the blunt tool of force anybody else wonder if that’s what’s being done to us, the masses?

Very interesting. Sounds like the current hive mind global synchronization of the human project. The question, what's the goal...what's the new species of flat worm based on 8 billion cells (humans) thinking the same thing at the same time.

My brother went to school with his son. I've been over at his house. And sometimes his son would come over and play "doctor" with my siblings and pretended to perform horrific procedures on them. Good times.

This discovery will make history, change how we perceive our world. I like the idea of working with mind-body solutions. My own story includes doing this work via psychology, and other modalities, to cure neurological conditions like nerve damage and PTSD. I am convinced that my body knows how to heal itself, it's just a matter of getting it to do so. Looking forward to more good observations, ahem, exciting science!

Jorge I've jat completed 3 years of mind body therapy which cleared beliefs (negative out/positive in), treated trauma and more recently healed arthritis. The techhnique is all based on bioelectrical system. We start each session by using cooks hook up to ground and use muscle testing for direction. Life changing experience which started when I read "the body keeps the score".. Biolectrical system offers so much potential. Method I set was AIT (adanced imtegrative therapy).

Ethics + security are important aspects of this kind of work, yet not a word. How responsible is a scientist delving w chimeras, regeneration, mutations etc not to address both? Humans are NOT hardware. Not EVERYTHING goes..

His view, which I think is correct, is that we do all kinds of things via drugs, surgeries, and other disruptive interventions in the human body already. The natural state of the body is not the goal in and of itself. He has also talked about how he hears really heartbreaking stories of people who are given so much hope from his work, but he knows that it will still be quite some time until most of it is safely developed for human medicine. I think you’re discounting how truly desperate many people are for the types of benefits that his work will hopefully lead to.

21:25 what does it mean by the same conditions? did he meant he if induced polarization for a two-headed regeneration? So in the first paper about the two-headed planaria, the outcome was always not the same? Or this 70% one.headed, 30% two-headed are in normal regeneration conditions without inducing polarization?

How can a guy who does such a great interview have so little views ? Do you need to have some random girl twerking to get this human race to appreciate such great minds with undescribably amazing careers and projects ? Oh well, I for one love what’s being discussed here.

That’s all great, but how do we use this at home? Where can I download the software development kit? What API do I build to interact with the xenobots? So far all I hear is just description of functionality? Surely the future isn’t just in the hands of the elite? Or is it?

We are able to heal our own body when we meditate and have our chakras align to produce our morphogenic field and that's how we heal our own body. I'm able to see my field and electricity around my body, just wondering if anyone else can see it aswell?
