Honestly, I respect that they showed that not everyone wants to go full sorcerer and dedicate their lives to it. Some people just want what they have back, and that's enough. That seems like a pretty realistic outcome. And I love that the sorcerers are okay with people just returning to normal after they gain what they want with their power. There's no obligation or sworn oath or anything. The knowledge is free for anyone to use however they see fit, as long as they don't hurt anyone.

TBF. Pangborn says he didn't have the strenght to learn more. It could mean he didn't have the mental fortitude to go further, but it could also mean he just didn't have the magical capabilities to go further. There probably are oaths and obligations if someone once to go further, its just that if you can't there isn't any reason to hold that against you if you choose to leave. If you learned only a little bit, don't plan on being malicious, and just want to live a peaceful life, then it makes all sense to just let them go. If learning magic was easy, I would expect it to be more mainstream. It's likely not everyone can learn or get good at it, along the side of gatekeeping to prevent misuse. This would obscure and mystify the art so no one would believe it could exist.

Yeah kinda falls apart when you have people still getting paralysed and shit and these people are just sitting on the solution, twiddling their fingers, like "oh... you all wanted to walk??? How come you never asked???" Doesn't make sense. Either go full secrecy or visa versa. But the opposite never happens because then the writers actually have to think and portray a world effected by sorcery in a million different ways.

Damn this scene has so much meaning. The first time Strange met Pangborn there was 2 layers of fence. The moment they started talking there was 1 and when Pangborn shared his information there was none

This scene has a lot of wisdom. In the beginning of the movie Dr. Strange is seen as an egotistical doctor thinking that he is better than his peers. After he gets into the car accident. He cannot rely on himself anymore to fix things. He is searching for something bigger than himself. My favorite line is. "The cost is high." "how much?" "I am not talking about money" (ego, old beliefs, Control, fears etc.") He even says " good luck!" to Dr. Strange with a smirk on his face because he already knows how hard it is for his ego to let go. Thanks for sharing this clip!

It shows that Jonathan had changed from when he first arrived at the feet of the ancient one. By pointing Stephen to Kamar Taj, this is him paying it forward because others took pity on him, so how could he do no less?

Pang = a sudden sharp pain or painful emotion. Born = come into existence as a result of birth. Stephen is a Pangborn, too.

Shoutout to Pangborn for being one of the steps in Stephens becoming Sorcerer Supreme and one of the main factors in saving half the universe. If you think about it, he definately had every right to not tell Strange how he was fixed, considering Strange didn't even at least attempt to fix him. But he did.

It's my absolute favorite MCU film in the entire saga(s). I can rewatch it all day long and never get tired of it. The acting, writing, music, cinematography, effects, story, and villain, all of them are incredibly well done. To the point where I empathize with Kaecillius (however you spell it), cry when the Ancient One dies, and laugh at every "I've come to bargain!", you know the movie is truly something special. (forgive me, I'm super stoned writing this)

It always cracked me up how Dr. Strange acted like his life was over. Like he couldn’t practice anymore. Homie is an MD and could’ve easily gone into another field of medicine. 😂 General Practitioner or something of the sort.

@@SolFormationyup, everything Hollywood puts out takes inspiration from reality. Kong vs Godzilla’s Hollow Earth refers to Agartha/Shambhala which the Kamar-Taj network is likely a part of. German SS went looking for it in WWII, many of them including Hitler were Buddhist.

You know what's crazy with his level of intelligence he could of gotten his life back together incredibly easily with countless high paying jobs to maintain his lifestyle. But he chose to seek monks and wizards in a hope to restore his previous gluttonous lifestyle.

It wasn't about money, if it was he would probably choose any of the other jobs available to him for someone of his reown. It was because he wanted to go back and do what he was good at: surgery. He was the best in his field and now that it was taken away from him he feels like he has nothing left.

I've never been the best at anything, but I have been good at a couple things - and losing them hurts. Hurts bad. His whole identity was tied up in his hands. He probably wowed his teachers at med school and probably had an incredibly high success rate (maybe higher than it should have been as seen here, but any high % doctor/lawyer etc can't take on no-win situations) in the operating room. People have spent more in an attempt to get back less.

I guess when there is a scene that Dr strange and Wong Investigating the rapid decrease of sorcerer affiliated with kamar-taj that They meet pangborn who has now paralyzed after mordo Snatch his magic that makes strange and Wong realized that mordo starts his Crusade of erasing sorcerers on earth

I think this one was better than MoM... I think they should have kept Scott Derrickson. His mix of horror and groundedness was a good fit for a character as wild as a Dr. Strange. Raimi is god-level, but I think he was a surprisingly poor fit in my humble opinion :/

I remember this happening to me in real life. The Ancient One took me to Kathmandu Nepal when I was 4 years old and she put me in a cage with Stephen Strange and both me and my Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange Benedict Cumberbatch have been together ever since 🧙‍♂️💙♥️🧙‍♀️💙💜

Limited information on him as he only gets mentioned in this movie, but Mordo apparently stole his ability to use magic, which prevented him from "channel[ing] dimensional energy directly into his own body". And quick side note: He wouldn't have been drawing power from the Dark Dimension like Kaecilius and co, as that was forbidden magic. More than likely it was just some other spell.

Great scene, rather ruined by a gormless after-credits sequence in the sequel. Literally nothing good came out of Multiverse of Madness. It's like Marvel's magic died with Iron Man.

I don't think so. He sounds like he tried to get Strange's help long before he had the car accident. And if you listen to the conversation in the car you hear a guy tell Stephen about a 32(?) year old Air Force Col. who crushed his spine is "some kind of experimental armor". We know by the events of Civil War that the War Machine is not considered experimental. So it only leaves the pilot of Justin Hammer's prototype suit.

There's no such thing as C-8! There are only seven cervical vertebrae, so if anything it would be a C-7/T-1 spinal cord injury. How did Marvel screw that up?

The c8 spinal nerve exists, but you are right there is not a c8 vertebrae. The c8 nerve exits between c7 and t1. Why did they name it c8? Because there is a nerve on top of, and below each vertebrae, so there is more nerves than there are vertebrae, so they had to add a number on to the cervical nerves. Hope this helps clear up the confusion.
