And tips for a beginner? I have the same metal detector but not the wand. And I can't seem to find anything I get signals and don't find anything. What am I doing wrong

You are doing nothing wrong, the detector is a piece of Junk, it should not even be offered for sale and Jason should had told everyone when he field tested it, that it is a worthless detector. My advice send it back for a refund and don't buy anything under $200.
