There is no way for this story to not be funny!

You really ought to react to his longer video on the voyage. If you thought this one little part on the Kamchatka was funny, you'll die gasping for air on the video on the whole carnival clown cruise that was the voyage of the Second Pacific Fleet.

Admiral Rozhestvensky: "Wait did you see the Kamchatka out there." Officer: "Kamchatka, no." Admiral Rozhestvensky: "Thank god for a moment i thought we were in trouble."

3:29 I had to re-check this because it just occurred to me that the Zhemchug mentioned here might just be the same one that I was originally thinking of. Turns out, it in fact was. Now, the Zhemchug isn’t a noteworthy ship in-of-itself. In fact I’d say its most notable feat about her was that she was one of the few Russian ships apart of the Second Pacific Squadron which actually survived the Battle of Tsushima. No, instead I remember this specific ship because she makes an appearance during the early stages of WWII as apart of the truly legendary career of a far more famous ship. That ship of course being the German Light Cruiser, SMS Emden: the fabled “Swan of the East” as she was called during the opening stages of the war. Drach also has a video on her which is quite good. A was lone raider of merchant shipping, far from home and with limited support; operating within the Indian Ocean. Honestly, I’m hard pressed to think of a ship which garnered more fear and respect at those early months than the Emden. In fact, the ship garnered such a reputation within the areas she operated in, variations upon her name were added into some of the native languages around where she hunted. (Apologies for any mistranslations.) In Sinhala and Tami, “Amdan” roughly translates to: “Someone who is tough, manipulative and crafty”. Whilst in Malayalam the word “Emadan” translates to: “A big and powerful thing”.

Admiral Rozhestvensky started giving names to officers and ships that displeased him, such names were "The polished fidget" and the "Guards Uniform hanger" and yes Kamchatka had one (though to avoid the KZfaq censors getting angry i will spell with the Phonetic Alphabet, just use the bracketed words) which was the "Lecherous (S)erra (U)niform (L)ima (T)ango"

One of my favourites is "Vast empty space." That and the Kamchatka "lecherous sloot"

Keep in mind this fleet was crewed largely by literal illiterate peasants who had never seen the sea or even know the ocean existed…
