Having it as a one of ina very aggressive deck has proved to be very beneficial for me. It's not played enough (in plat) that people play around it and if you have 3/4 creatures on a stalled bored you can often attack in and just win out of the blue. Its terrible when behind but it has such a good upside, as long as it stays underplayed

Agreed, not hard to build a deck that can spit out 3 to 4 rats consistently and dealing 12 damage outta nowhere is stronk

A big reason I think cut in is so good is the fucking crazy tempo. If I cut in your creature and young hero role my 2/2 and it can safely get in, the next time you can block it, it will be a 4/4.

8:38 I think the context is Aggro versus Control. Cut In is definitely better in Aggro, where it removes bigger creatures as blockers and buffs smaller attackers. Torch is better in Control, where it's early interaction that allows you to survive long enough to play larger, game-winning threats. So when presented with the option between the two, I think it really depends on what archetype you're drafting.

Ash is usually a 3/3 but with Torch and Cut In you can get lucky if they ever stumble on defense.

Draftsmith definitely seems to favor as many 3 drops as it can get. I'm not sure why, I'm sure there's some kind of stat of 'if you don't play a card on turn 3 you are % more likely to lose', so it forces as much effort into getting every 3 drop creature it can.

i think it's just that in this set 2 drops suck and there are many decent three drops. It just prioritizes winrate and probably has some other stats like turns held/played winrate/lost with this card in hand I end up in so many drafts where i don't see a decent 2 drop to save my life, best you can do most times is have a few bears just to fill the gaps and avoid being blown out by boros

Wasn't aware of this series and was initially bummed after hearing the description from you. Was hoping it was drafting the worst rated card or something similar. So I was quite pleased when the bot gave you the Mardu deck lol. Great stuff.

38:12 I think Jim should have used the double strike Adventure BEFORE the Monstrous Rage. They both represent 3 extra damage, but keeping Rage back lets you Rage in response to them trying to remove the double striker and completely blow it out..

I'm so glad this isn't their Alchemy packs this time. Last night, I finally gave up on the Arena client and uninstalled it completely after several years despite having nearly every card on the platform crafted and hitting Mythic in Limited every season I cared to try. The crappy pairing algorithms, deck manipulation from the hand smoother, only ranking ladder games from BO1, lacking support for older formats, etc. all made me finally ditch the client. I'll still tune into your Arena content, but I'm done with that client. WotC has some real soul searching to do if they don't want to completely alienate players who have been supporting them for nearly 30 years.
