​@@snkneo-geo933 Probably the advantage of riding what is basically an overpowered twist&go moped that requires zero shifting skills at all. One guy had skill and shifted on time,and the other just sat on the machine and twisted the throttle until the end of the race...guess which one of them I actually respect.

@@snkneo-geo933 agreed I’d rather shift (especially with a drum brake) but I ride a Vespa these days and I enjoy working the throttle the way you would work the pedal in a shifty automatic!

My CR500 will be just as fast in 2 years as it is now with nothing but routine maintenance. And doesn't require horribly toxic materials from a strip mine in China to eventually rebuild.

Exactly. I dont care how good the electric bikes get. Its not the same sport with electric bikes. In my opinion if they replace all others the sport is dead.

@@mikepalmer2219 - I work in automotive manufacturing. The world is going electric. For a lot of reasons. Mainly financial. The main element of this will be in Tennessee about 100 outside Memphis. Your still going to be able to have a gasoline engine. However, an electric option will be available and incentivized. It won’t be forced on anyone, gasoline won’t leave that quick.

@@mikepalmer2219 That’s the incentives I was talking about. I’m not suppose to be discussing this on social media. But I can say “Made in the USA” and “Made in America” get treated like their the same thing. The lithium is coming from America, more specifically Mexico. What’s good for a Mexico is good for the United States. That has a lot to do with it. I have a lot to say on it, but I got to restrain myself cause I love my employer.

It’s not a fair test, more of a fun video. A STIG would have to wholeshot them individually and compare the results. Doesn’t matter, mines faster. Maybe not as quick as some off the line but I’d outrun all these bikes.

I have a 2018 EX that is even cleaner than this bike, and has only 6.1 hours and 138.3 miles on it for sale. My Alta has never been in the dirt. Only used to ride in the grass around my neighborhood. Decided I want another new KTM 300 instead. Also note the EX model is street legal, and mine is registered and has a license plate. You can ride it on the knobbys, change to dual sport tires, or get a set of supermoto wheels with street tires for it if you want to ride it to work during the week. Will sell for $9000.

@@mikeh423 Sounds like a nice Bike.I don't want one,I just wanted to see and feel what is was like to ride one.Know I can tell my friends exactly what it's like to ride one and how fast they are.I'll stick with My Harley Streetglide Special for highway riding as long as I can.Those 300's are nice.

Unless batteries evolve dramatically the Ebikes will always have a problem with Range & Weight, they might be Good for Short Motos, but I Can't Imagine them @ Baja or Erzberg Rodeo!

Battery limited at this point of course I think it's silly the woke military is using ebikes. How dumb.

The Alta suspension is KTM suspension. Yes it is valved soft, but that is an easy fix. Any place that does WP suspension can make it like you want it. The Alta has a single reduction gear between the motor and the sprocket shaft. No clutch. I didn’t think I would like riding one until I tried it, I actually thought I would hate it. Turns out it is freaking amazing. The Alta feels like riding a modern KTM with tons of tractable power. You can put it in map 1 and let your kids or wife ride it, or map 4 and hang with any dirt bike ever made. I can’t afford multiple bikes, and I want a new fuel injected KTM, so I am considering selling my Alta. A freak happenstance of a bad coil. Its literally a 1 in 100,000 chance of happening.

That Gas Gas is 300cc and it is stock out of the box. It will be getting the 500cc engine soon.
