He didn't know he's a Cousland. During the blight he traveled with my mage Warden Amell, accompanied by everyone you know, Elissa Cousland and the dalish elf Mahariel. He doesn't even know Elissa is his sister until the the urn of sacred ashes, during the gauntlet. And yes, Elissa Cousland is an apostate in this story. ):-D
