I really need to say this. Solas wasn't tearing down the veil yet. The prisons for the elven gods was failing and he was just relocating them. Bianca can be fixed and he didn't want to hurt Varric but he also didnt want to get shot. It is the same voice actors, they're just older because it's been 10 years since inquisition irl and in game. The art style is just because of frostbite too

even in tressapser solas' voice was less jovial/expressive and more lower/drained and serious i suspect the voice we heard through most of inquisition was a bit more of a front and yes, by this time he would be tired that's why it's different though same va

I'm excited for this game!!! It definitely seems like it will be worth the wait. This trailer was so much better than the companion reveal trailer. I hope you do play this when it comes out.

Regarding backstories, they’re mostly factions for Rook you want them to belong to. There are 6 backstories/factions you can give Rook in the character creation. I know one of the backstories you can have is Grey Warden.

Im excited. The combat looks fun to me but I never really played these games for the combat. I'm hoping at higher levels it will be fun. Its no wonder Dorian called Fereldan quaint after seeing Minrathous.

'it's in development'. I think launch is going to be October. We're in the marketing phase and the game is pretty much done. I've got a good feeling about Veilguard but playing it is the only proof. It is more 'Mass Effect' in combat style which is not worse, it's just different.

One of the dragon age lore masters here on KZfaq, Ghil Dirthalen, revealed after the gameplay trailers that she and several other lore masters were consulted on the game’s lore by the developers. That means they at least respected the past stories and the lore that was established in the previous games. Ghil Dirthalen is very focused on the history and stories about and relating to the elves of Thedas. That fact alone has me more excited than almost any other game of the past 5 years.

Solas did not look happy to see whatever those two creatures were, so very intrigued about that particular aspect. Would love to see the play through later in the year.

most people don't realize but inquisition was basically like da2 just without the icons, a lot of the humorous dialogue was in the middle, 'good' up top a nd 'stoic/aggressive' at the bottom

Im a huge DA fan and i got a little nervous after hearing a bunch of negative feedback from people about this gameplay trailer. But honestly is looks good to me. As u mentioned its the beginning of the game, so u dont have much skills yet, so basically what we were seeing was auto attacks. Im wondering if the death of Bianca is what takes Varric out of the fight, and maybe hes more like an Advisor in this game. Either that or maybe he just goes back to the Inquisitor.

According to the information they provide, it will be possible to recreate your inquisitor by answering a few questions during the game and the game takes place 9 years after the events of the expansion Trespasser.

It’s my understanding these new companions are from the Tevinter Knights and other DA graphic novels. Also, the skill tree is supposed to be very comprehensive and there are ability profiles similar to Andromeda.

Varric dying isn't a spoiler (otherwise we would have deleted the comments), it's people being pessimistic. I am one of those people, mostly because I want to prepare myself in case it does happen. If Varric were to die, I'd probably have to shut down the game for a while to cope 😛😭 But we have little reason to think that'll happen, other than speculation that this scene from the prologue is foreshadowing. Varric's hair reads as gray to me, especially compared with Rook's and Neve's in dark lighting. I also wish we could romance him. 10:00 We've known since Trespasser that the Inquisitor wasn't going to lead the new organization, because they needed new people who Solas didn't know. But as Tom said, the Inquisitor is going to be in the game and is customizable. We don't know much more than that, though. 12:56 Auto-looting corpses? Hell yes, bring it on. I didn't really pay attention to the font, tbh. The combat reminds me of sort of a merger between DAI and ME3, with what they've revealed about power combos. I'm not happy about the limit of only 3 powers being active at a time, but I can live with that considering everything else looks great to me. They have said there is no overhead camera, but you do get to choose the powers your companions use so you can combo with them (like in ME3). I do think it looks pretty fluid. Tevinter Nights introduces the companions. Tom and I are both reading it right now. I'm not very far in, but I've met Emmrich and Neve so far. 24:27 They have said that mage, warrior, and rogue have three subclasses each. There are also backgrounds to choose from separately. 27:23 If we end up having a choice to sacrifice either Varric or the Inquisitor at some point, I would also choose to save Varric. I hope at least one of the female VA's is just as good. I thought the British female Inquisitor from DAI was kinda bland a lot of the time. She did a great job as Samantha Traynor, so I don't know why she bored me as the Inquisitor.

Do a playthrough! BUT ... we're going to need a recap of your worldstate! So a recap of your Origins/2/Inquisition would be worthwhile and your perspective on the characters like Aveline, Wynne, Sten, Sera, Vivienne...y'know not just your romance. There are so many story beats in those games I'd love your reaction/10 year post perspective on.

If they don't let me romance Varric after finally giving him closure with Bianca in DAI I'm gonna be so mad 😂 There was an article released that talked about the story. I won't spoil any of it but I'm way more excited for the full game because it sounds like the story is going to be amazing. Some of the companions were in the novel Tevinter Nights, which also made me more excited for them. I'm still kind of hesitant about the combat, but honestly it'll be good to get away from turn based since I've been playing almost nothing except Baldur's Gate since it came out 😂

I would definitely would want to watch you play Dragon Age The Veilgurad Kim. The main protagonist isn't the Veilgurad. The Veilgurad is comprised of the main protagonist named Rook , plus the 7 companions. The gameplay you watched to the best if my knowledge is the actual gameplay and no longer in development. I would guess they are doing final tweaks and tests these last few months prior to release. I too would have liked to have seen more of the combat options in the gameplay footage. Combat wheel is like Mass Effect and you can select powers for your 2 companions. You won't have full control like in DAI. Harding is a romance option. I'm not sure about Varric. Poor Bianca blasted to bits by Solas 😢 . The inquisitor will make an appearance and you will have to recreate In character creator at the start ,along with choices made in DAI.

I'd love to watch you play. I do plan on getting the game and playing it. But I do have similar concerns with some of it. Like you say its still being finalized.

Solas and Varric were friends. If the Inquisitior didn't have a good relationship with him, he was potentially his ONLY friend. FYI if you haven't read the books, in the Masked Empire which takes place before the 3rd game, Solas kills a friend who turns against him. Not killing Varric shows that his time with the Inquisition changed him. Varric still means something to him, no matter the choices you as a player make. Solas isn't a monster. He is making bad choices under the weight of great pain. Not to get all feral and stuff but I think this needs to be pointed out.

Dragon age franchise is one of my favorite games... I loved dragon age origins and dragon age 2 in my opinion wasn't as bad as people say it was just the fact that people expect that the second game into a franchise supposed to be better than the first and our expectations was high and I enjoy dragon age inquisition is a also a great game And also Mass effect franchise is also one of my favorite games so The next dragon age and Mass effect game for the two games that I'm looking for to play but BioWare knows that they need to hit a homerun with both of these games... Now we have seen the game play in the first trailer to it but to be quite honest we can't judge it until we play it the game... And I will be looking forward if Kim decides to play this game on her channel... She's the best gamer on KZfaq today in my opinion.

I am going to avoid the rest of the DA upload info until the game comes out, just want to experience a blind playthrough. Folks will hype it up, folks will pick it apart but the end it is either good or not. I am going to give it a try, I have played all rest, I am invested into to the saga and if you are too, then you ought to too. All I can say for sure is that if you play it we we watch it. lots Of love kiddo!

I'm still mixed about the gameplay. At a first glace, it looks like we're being restricted to 3 abilities, which I don't like. I've heard that the gaemplay is more Mass Effect like, which hopefully means we get around 7 or 8 abilities to use.

Just a reminder Solas subsumed Flemeth/ Mythal so he now has the loyalty of those sworn to Mythal. The Well of Sarrows Mythal, meaning we as Inquisitor or Morrigan drank from that well, wed be sworn to Mythal/ Solas

I agree the art looks like something from Disney, the pride demons look like Dementors especially with the purple, blues, and pinks in neon hues...

I'm thoroughly unimpressed by the gameplay trailer. But I hope that my initial reservations are utterly wrong, and the game turns out to be awesome.

I still have alot of concerns. Anytime a company changes the entire look of a game, it's usually not a good sign. As I said, Varric has always been blond. To me its the equivalent of giving Solas a full head of hair. Neon has not been a thing for DA. Gritty, dark, etc. Yes. They used bright, sickly green for the veil. But not pinks, purple and blue neon. Its pretty but it is not consistent with anything from the other games. If you radically change its looks and its feel, are you still able to stay true to its history or feel. This will either make or break Bioware and Mass Effect with it. Apparently your saves from Dragon keep will not be able to be used since they apparently can't import it due to incompatibility with the new engines program. So not happy with that.

Yeah this is the hardest pass ever. Dragon Age, sadly, died a long time ago. The world of Thedas was beautiful and full of potential, but this is just sad and pathetic and I'm sure Bioware will be shut down after this putrid mess flops next year. I'll just replay DAO.

Solas wouldn’t blast Varric, he loves his friends. I have loved Solas as a character for years and romanced him each time. He is very conflicted because he cares so deeply for the people and feels like he has to do this. It’s very sad and he is so tragic. I love him. I will help Solas no matter what. I need him to reunite with my Inquisitor that romanced him and have a happy ending. Also Solas has the same voice actor as in da:i! He is very tired and sad so it makes sense he sounds like it too, he sounded tired in trespasser too. Gareth David-Lloyd is brilliant as Solas.
