Games were more simple as a kid. You spend a year playing a game you love without even knowing a sequel was coming out. Then you walk into Gamestop and see a brand new Budokai Tenkaichi

playing on the highest pcsx2 settings for this art style straight up makes it look like a modern game, it's so simple yet so artistic that it literally can't age poorly.

Story mode is a huge step back from bt2, but the large amount of character allows you to create any kind of "what if scenario" in cpu battle. Also, Red potara charaters are perfect to replicate a realistic Db experience: trying to face Op villains with normal z fighters or even doing the opposite, for example facing red potara Goku with standard Frieza makes you really feel the struggle and the desperation of the villain beeing overpowered.

I think the best aspect in the BT3 story mode are the alternative endings and playing as the Villains sometimes, but still I would like to see something more complete like BT2.

Love the Tenkaichi series

Despite all the DBZ games that have come out over the years, BT1 has the most badass and authentic Intro of all of DBZ games of the Franchise. BT2 and BT3 in my opinion still remains the most Unique and the best DBZ games in terms of content, quality and fanservices. And from the gameplay perspective aspects, these DBZ games that I mentioned are very close to the anime itself because of the Vibe and Charm, I don't know how to describe it but it was, and still is the most Unique DBZ experience you could have with the combat factor. (- Sheer amount de of characters - Transformations mid-battle (powering up and down) - Fusions mid-battle - Fast gameplay that has that "woah" feel - Tons of extra content - Story mode covering all sagas + movies - What If sagas - Shenron having permanent impact on game (character unlocks and whatnot) - Great tournaments that rotate availability - Edit characters with items (buffs) - 5v5 battles - Really Great and Epic Soundtracks - Destroyable environments - Entire stages could be blown up into their "destroyed" alternatives - Mission 100 being a great challenge - Artwork is 10/10 - Sound effects are great - Combat feels heavy and satisfying) Only Budokai 3, Infinite World, Raging Blast 1 and 2 and PSP DBZ games are still considered also very solid DBZ games, also the hidden gem that a lot of DBZ fans missed from PS2 Era of DBZ games is "Super Dragon Ball Z" which is also a real Unique and DBZ game, especially for the different gameplay aspects perspective. ✌☯️

My favorite part about this game was the ability to customize each character to change their stats, abilities or even their aura color. Really gave you the freedom to create your own storylines. I personally gave Zangya a gold aura so she looked like the first ssj3 woman

I'm so excited for Budokai Tenkaichi 4!

BT4 IS COMING BABYYYYYYYYY

bt2 story mode was awesome especially the rpg mechanics to build your own build via improving items and combining them. Edit: also no restrictions on unlocked transformations was hella funny

All this game needed was the cut scenes like budakai so you can feel it more

I been playing this on my Anbernic RG505, been playing the Wii version, DBZ Budokai 1, 3 and Tenkaichi 3 and XenoVerse 2 are my favorites

i remember not buying em for story. mostly for the big ass roster of usable characters. look at games now. 10 chars. and 10 more for 6-10 bucks each. so the game costs 60 and then u pay 60-100 bucks more to get the rest of the characters.

I ordered a copy of this game today and I'm hoping I don't get ripped off. It looks so bad ass.

This game had a smooth gameplay mechanic which makes it so enjoyable to play but the story is so compressed that it just feel like a speedrun of the entire DBZ only 😅

i hope in the next budokai tenkaichi will have all the character regardless of no skill or power at all
