For me when you finish the game and want to do what should be the "true ending", something is left to chance, no one wonders how the protagonist has new powers, only one character wonders how you found the sword, no one wonders where certain powers come from, it was enough to give two half-explanations :|

Took me 3 tries... I screwed up my line up on my first one and just let him kill all of them, second one I almost had it but a few bad moves screwed everything up, third one absolutely nothing went wrong and was probably done in 5-10 minutes max

999 is nothing when you do at least 4k by turn and it's pretty low lol

if he heals, just use divide with erik, then critical claim, it immediately takes 1500 health away

This doesnt work because magic burst only deals triple the mp it consumed. At best, you can have serena come in and do mighty magic burst pep power, for 6000 damage, but the boss still has more than that. Erik did over 13000 damage in this video. That's 4 magic bursts from veronica solo. I think youd only need 3 to kill him though.

@@steveh1474 a late reply but, use venorica method is the most non-rng way to kill the boss. You might have trouble using the method shown in video if you failed to poison the boss in first turn and mess up the sequences, since divide only stay for 1 round.

Haha yes! satisfying to think about it!! though gotta admit, without guide, I couldnt have created an accessory for the ailments and other missions to boost the party stats. good thing I didnt know about the trick for the aura beforehand, never bothered with ultimate weapons and armor either, just the accessory and good ol level grind

I spend three month with all the draconian quest on to figure out what to do AND I COULD DISPEL THE AURA IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH EASIER TO DO SO I AM PISSED... at least my game is 102% completed

I was incredibly fortunate, I think. Basically made poor Hendrik eat every strike Calasmos sent while Erik or the Luminary beat the socks outta Calasmos in the mean time XD Is it a cheating tactic? Sure but it worked great, and the dude went down within 15 minutes on the first run. Then I found out in my second run that I coulda used the fecking sword to take down his barrier….

I beat the game for the second time today, this time i used the sword and it completely remove the challenge. The first time i considered Kalasmos like a real end boss but this time he took 8 or 9 turns without barely any dead, it may be long but i highly recommend to do it without the sword tbh

haha me too, I had to cast so many omniheals after almost dying, and he lived long enough to respawn his arms once

I bought a bunch of elvin elixirs, yggdrasil something(fully restores hp to the party), and some pep pips. Then I kept refilling serena and veronica with the elixirs and pep pips while spamming the magic burst pep power. I barely had enough to beat him. I wish I knew the sword of light could dispel that aura before fighting him.

The sword of light is supposed to dispel it. But it doesn't do SHIT.

⁠@@dukenukem7043I did it on my second try also with almost no op weapons. You just need to use a strategy of switching out to dodge certain attacks and using kerplunk to bring everyone back. Its a cheesey strat but worked fine

@@dukenukem7043 I did it on my first try today, but it took soo long to finish. had to keep healing and reviving with alternately with the hero and serena. the constant debuffs we annoying. probably took me 30-50 minutes to finish him lol. made the god rings to prevent debuffs to try again and beat him another time and definitely got easier. but after watching this video and finding out you can use the light sword like this, it just became easy mode.

The boss fight is somewhat of a tribute to Zoma. I mean, there's his leitmotif playing when you use the sword.

Talk to the watchers in game, they tell you to use the sword of light in battle. They tell you this in the game.

Nah this isnt all true. Daggers are still the best damage dealer even on draconian mode, and this erik doesnt have 999 strength. He could hit for over 20k if he did. He only did 13k in this video.

@@steveh1474 Thanks for the correction - I got invested in playing Dragon Quest IX on the DS again so I never got far in Draconian to really test out the daggers, just had read elsewhere that they're weaker but guess ya can't trust everything you read! Although I never said his strength was 999, just beefed up.

You don't have to. You use the hallelujah pep with another pep that gives you metal slimes instead of the monsters your fighting. I found a rare metal hand monster that gave 30,000 exp by itself. Used the first pep to multiply that exp. Kill that hand. Then use the other pep to instantly spawn like 4 more metal slimes including a king metal slime. I almost got a million exp. I'm not even kidding. If you do it just right, you'll get there real quick. The thing is the prep time to get those pep pills and patience to find that rare metal slime hand. Good luck. It was more about the journey then the destination.

Make sure you aren't using the supreme sword of light. That one wont work.

Greatsword is better until you get to post game and get the best single handed swords.

Well i'm using two falcon blades right now for the Hero and i do a lot of damage with them since they can attack twice so that is 4 hits in total but they also have very low attack which is like 45 compared to the swords that i can get right now which is 90 or something i forgot lol. I see everyone using the Brilliant Blade greatsword even after they get to post game, it might have some effects that are very good that i dont know about right now. I only have the 3rd wheel of Harma finished and the 4th and 5th havent been unlocked yet.

The wheel of Harma is unlocked from the moment you get to it. You can do all 5 trials in one sitting. You just need to finish the previous trial to get the next one.
