I hate that you can't have a bow with a melee weapon (unless you play my least favorite class - Warfarer). The game needs a strider-like class IMO.

Only things i miss are some of the of the old classes, mystic knight, assassin, hell even strider with the bow and knives hated that they spilt those into 2

I’m loving the split, but they made archers so weak it’s not even funny😂 I hope they add more skills later cuz I miss having my archer pawn from the first game.

@@ashtonlicata7448 every class that was in the first game was heavily nerfed coming into the second game, and we are missing a lot of skills coming from the first into the second. All that being said, it also feels like they nerfed the monsters, so now they’re super easy to kill and once you pass lvl 30 the whole game feels trivial.

My dream had a boss or two that didn't get melted in 3 seconds haha other than that, story's kinda wtf was this game built combat first and story just thrown in as filler? Cuz alot of it makes no sense. But I digress I skip most games stories cuz they usually suck anyways haha. Combats fire though, they definitely nailed that to the wall, now we just need the crazy enemies from the first game, like living armour and evil eyes all the classics

As much as I love this game, it's also one of my most disappointing games. It could have been so much more, alot of the features such as enemy variety, quests, end game are under cooked. Like they removed part of the game for the expansion which will be out much sooner than the dd1 expansion I bet. Look at buying homes... so much potential but no customisation... there should be more ways to help towns and settlements after they've been attacked by dragons. I had so much fun with this game but it could and will be so much more... only if you cough it $40 for the expansion.

Fast travel, dumped down gameplay and of course lack of enemy’s kill this game. Dark arisen gave you better fast travel, higher difficulty, and of course more enemies. This game isn’t a open world ether. I can’t actually explore like Skyrim or even Elden ring so it fails at that to.

The game is definitely open world, with lots to see. The fast travel system is the exact same but without the eternal ferrystone (oh no the horror, the actual importance of the fast travel is back), the gameplay is waaaay better, and while missing some cool big guys it has the exact same type of style as the first game 😂

As someone who loves dd1 I love dd2 more. The world looks more lively than the 1st and I get sidetracked more often in dd2 which is great.

@@Wolfgang-vd8kx That's what a lot of people said early / mid game. Now that many of them are finishing the game, they are noticing the lack of enemy variety, how easy the game gets, the weaker NPCs and story compared to the first game.

I loved DD1 and have played through it several times. I think DD2 outshines the first game for sure. It’s like they took what they had and polished it to a sheen as far as core concepts and gameplay. I actually haven’t seen many OG players complaining. But I’m sure they’re out there. Edit. And I say this after platinum’ing DD2. I never noticed an issue with enemy variety, reading your other response. It has much more variety than the first game and there are dozens of enemies. If anyone is complaining about enemy variety I assume it’s because they haven’t played long enough, gone off the beaten path enough, or because you fight a lot of the same enemies on the road in regular traversal so it may seem like there’s less then there is. It has a good variety though. Always room for more though, sure.

Also as a fan of dd1, DD2 is amazing, gameplay, looks and mechanics wise, story could have been more but the most enjoyment for me. Is the skyrim like exploration, as in I find myself constantly getting distracted from tasks to just explore that path or that cave. Cannot recommend enough. Just don't hope for a gripping and compelling story as dd1 does a better job

This game is good but what people who played the first one back in the day wanted was for Capcom to improve on the foundation laid by the first game. This game has literally all the strenghts and flaws of the first one, so they improved nothing but the graphics and physics. In fact, this one is worse than the first game if you count Dark Arisen.

Hate to admit it but i agree with you. While im still enjoying it mostly for the combat and world it didnt build on much from the first game. Same enemies that you encounter every 20 feet, rewards that arent worthwhile and when you do find any actual gear it gets beat out by stuff you can buy in the shops. Also, the story could of been much better if it was fleshed out more but lost focus when you get to battahl and ends abruptly shortly after.
