The best way to enjoy the game is to adopt the attitude "Whatever happens, happens" meaning, stop caring about the consequences of your actions, stop trying to force an outcome and just react to whatever comes your way. Consequences be damned.

That's a great point about the separate saves at Inn's, every bit of information I've heard about the save system, pointed to one save, no exceptions, that isn't true. Knowing this, you can use Inn's strategically, for a second save option.

The one thing I love this game is that it doesn't hand held you. I don't mind the grinding as long as it's fun and you can explore it at your own pace.

I spent just over a thousand hours in Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen. I've been playing this game since 2013, and I'm so glad its sequel is getting the love I thought the first one deserved.

One thing I’ve seen people, who haven’t played the first game, confused about is thinking that when your pawn is being used by another player you can still use them too. I’ve seen people thinking that if they are being used by another player you can’t use them too. But that’s not the cause.

I can totally relate to your first impressions, I remember the first time I played the orginal Dragon's Dogma, it's the only franchise where you can really feel the sense of adventure.

Personally, I watch multiple channels to get an idea of how a game is. This is definitely the first unanimously positive video I've seen so far... my skeptical knee-jerk reaction is paid sponsorship. So far, my opinion is to wait a year for the bugs to be fixed and buy it on sale. But another part of me wants to vote with my wallet against micro transactions.

Loved Dark Arisen and this looks to be more of the same except tightened up. Counting down the hours right now. Lol. Love the feeling of weight and almost claustrophobia when you’re out questing without fast travel (although not sure if it’s like Dark Arisen where you can get limited fast travel with an artifact deeper into the game) and that it is one of the few games out there where night time is meaningful. If you got caught out when the sun was going down you had a real problem on your hands potentially, and if you needed to travel at night you had to weigh the risks first. A mashup of Elden Ring, Monster Hunter, and Skyrim basically, and it’s awesome. Secrets to find around every corner. Meaningful combat and upgrades. Giant bohemoths to slay. Your choices have real consequences. And a world that feels so alive that anything could happen. Cannot wait to jump in. And I am curious to see the RE Engine in essentially it’s first truly demanding open world setting (so far I think we’ve only had Monster Hunter Rise as a comparison).

I don't think it's that deep. I think many are just deriding WhatCulture's overdone clickbaity-y generalizations they often display in their thumbnails. If this game was something they didn't like (such as seemingly anything Sony-related), it wouldn't be surprising in the least if the title read: "The Game NO ONE Asked For."

To be fair the comparisons of reviews between DD2 and a game that came out same day with better FPS and performance (rise of the ronin) proves FPS isn't everything with how much significantly better overall reviews DD2 has over Ronin, performance can be fixed but bad game design and combat mechanics just can't. Id rather play a 9/10 or 10/10 game with 30 fps then a 5 or 6/10 game with 120 fps tbh. That said I do hope DD2 gets performance upgrades cause it does say Alot that seems to be the only real issue

I remember way back when.... I had no idea that my pawn actually went to other people's worlds. The first time she came back with a gift I was so shocked and happy lol! Can't wait to get back into this newer, jazzed up version! ^.^

The pawn system is actually one of the main things I love about the first game back then. Like you I didn’t quite grasp it being other players pawns at first. I didn’t do much research at that time I just got it cause I saw a trailer of jumping on the hydra and I’ve always looked up anything with dragons. Lol. Have always wanted dd2 just didn’t think it would ever be made but now will be able to play it in a few more hrs.

I’m confused about the save file talk, surely you can create a totally new character and start over again (wiping your save of course), the way you worded it made it sound like you couldn’t, like you can only ever make one character 😂

Unless I’ve missed something massive, you can do this but there’s no way to wipe your save in game. To start over with a new character you’d have to wipe the save from the system memory completely, and even that might not work as the character is tied to your online ID

It's likely because of the in-game lore. In the 1st game, you also only had one character. Thing is, you can change your character entirely on Newgame+ (But you retain your stats and items in the storage). Though I'm pretty sure you can wipe your save to start completely fresh.

The MTs are not necessary. You can obtain every single one in the base game. The MTs are just to rush through it.

I really can't wait for a video from one of the big content creators to come out and explain the whole "micro transaction" situation. There's a lot of miss information being spread online about supposed "extra save slots" being sold or features like fast travel and character aesthetics modification being locked behind a paywall (spoiler... it's not at all). All because people can't read the word "micro-transaction" buzzword without reacting like a dog getting bothered while eating. Some context though, I have never purchased a microtransaction in my life and don't plan on doing so.

Well everyone has games they play and games they don't. All I can say is that we are blessed to at least have something to play. Whether we want to or not. There's something out there for everyone to play. You guys have an amazing day. Stay blessed
