Hector is the character from Castlevania Curse of Darkness and these lyrics are reference to the Character, Driven by Sorrow and eternal hatred in search of vengeance by Rosaly's Death, murdered by Isaac. This is one of the reasons why i consider this one of the Dragonforce's best songs

Fuck the haters. Seriously. This is so damn freaking awesome. It's amazing how, after 6 albums, they still find a way to make such diverse, catchy and jaw-dropping power metal with sick solos. I've grown tired of most bands because they've grown repetitive and, while DragonForce maybe commited that crime in the past, this new direction is very fulfilling. Great stuff guys.

And once again the haters are at it again! Come on, guys, let's just enjoy this for what it is. DragonForce is going in a different direction, and bassist Frédéric Leclercq, stated that they're trying to add more diversity to this album. The band TOLD us things would be different. That being said, why are people still acting like the new direction is such a war crime-level thing to hate? DragonForce are evolving as they always have. Let them.

It's just that Dragonforce have so much potential, Sam Totman is an awesome songwriter, why didn't they let him perfect his style? He can't be arsed anymore, because haters called Dragonforce's style "all the same" ...now DF sound like other bands instead. Imo, the new shorter songs (after UB) sound great, but also like they "forced" it to make them shorter/slower. Which explains to me why again people try to change (back) DF's style to how it was in the beginning, when Valley of the Damned was a song that sounded like nothing you've ever heard before. Anyway, I don't blame DF for playing it safe, because they just wanna make a living with their music. They don't have fans like AC/DC who always sound the same and their fans are cool with it... the (power) metal scene is full of idiots who want every band to sound like their favourite one. In my case it's no different, I always wanted them to sound like my favourite band: Dragonforce. Sorry, bad english, its late.

I love the band since Inhuman Rampage and I must say, when The Power Winthin released, I thought they were going to fall apart ... In addition to "Cry Thunder", "Die By The Sword" and "Last Man Stands" I enjoyed no other song on the album. Behold, when Maximum Overload arrived, it came to my surprise! That was a Fucking Album! I enjoyed all the songs and I think so far, the best album of the band competing just with Inhuman Rampage which in my opinion was the best of the ZP Theart era. So I really hope they keep evolving because the band has a lot of capacity!

Great track, just like Judgement Day. I honestly think Dragonforce have been at their best with Marc. The songs aren't as unnecessarily fast and feature a lot more unique melodies. Haters have plenty of other music to listen to; happy to call myself a fan, now more than ever before.

And already I know this will be my favorite on this album. :P I actually got Maximum Overload because I saw a song called "Symphony of the Night" on it. That was the Dragon Force album I had ever got. Oddly enough my favorite song actually ended up being "Tomorrow's King's". Learning that I loved Dragon Force led me to find some of my other favorite bands such as Dragonland and Dark Moor. So in the end thank you Dragon Force, because before that it was pretty much just video game music, movie music with other songs from various operas and musicals in my room almost all the time. Yeah, I know this comment's pointless, but I just felt as though I should say it...

Ultra beatdown is a 12/10 for me, didn't like power within, thought the shorter songs didn't work so well for them, but they fucking nailed that on maximum overload. The two from this album are more diverse, let's see what the album sounds like

honestly changing is the best thing DragonForce has ever done, it is slowly filtering people that only liked their most generic songs and hated on stuff that innovated, they are also improving in quality significantly in my opinion.

this is the first thing i check out of DragonForce in years and honestly... You're all like "I don't like the new genre" or "I dig the new genre" but it sounds similar to their stuff I listened to 5 or 8 years ago... It's a bit more varied (with acoustic parts, less shreding and slighlty more proggy) but it's still really close i think

The intro kinda sounds like the "Bloody Tears" song from Castlevania 2 done in a Metal theme. Plus, the chorus of this song has a line that says "Laments of Innocence" which is the title of another Castlevania game.

I never got to play Castlevania in the early 2000's and late 90's. But when this and Symphony came out, it made me want to explore the CastleVania stuff. And now I love the series of games, and also the show. Thanks, Dragonforce.

Great. Looking forward to this clearly varied album. I love that classic DF sound but I love when they try to do something different too.

That sounds like Castlevania Bloody Tears And the title is "Curse of Darkness" Like the game of Castlevania Curse of Darkness... That significates it's a tribute to Castlevania??? v:

Every band member is a fan of Castlevania! They do a couple songs that are Castlevania tributes. I love it. They show more respect to the franchise than Konami does!
