Yeah seasons 12,13,15 were pretty good but nothing compares to 1-6 and 8-10

12:35 Not to mention she's only the only character (besides Jordana and Beatrix) that has diffrent color hair growing up in imperium, with her having bright pink hair,instead of black hair like everyone else.

ehhh personally I think that's just because she's a main character, to make her more distinct & nothing to do with thematic reasoning(same with Jordana & Beatrix). Honestly would've liked it more if she actually decided to dye her hair post Imperium instead of being born with pink hair.

Dragons Rising Season 1 is just the perfect thing that Ninjago needed ever since the disasterous 11-minute-era came along. Easily my 5th favorite season throughout the entirety of Ninjago

@@MRTHUNDER. yes it was. season 11 was terrible then became kinda good but still had flaws, season 12 was meh, season 13 is easily the best season of this era, season 14/the island had potential but got wasted with only having 4 episodes, season 15/seabound was also a good season but it felt like season 1's pythor and great devourer plot all over again, and don't even get me started on season 16/crystalized (controversialized) mainly the redeeming qualities of this era were the visuals indeed, but the storytelling of this era doesn't stand out compared to any other ninjago era out there, as it literally reused stuff from previous seasons like ninja dying one by one until only jay is left (season 6/12), army that can build up into life again after defeated (season 7/13) pythor and great devourer as i mentioned (season 1/15) and it was also stated by tommy andreasen that the island was literally inspired by king kong movies. and if you take a further look at it, even the island reused some ideas that the king kong movies literally did, this is enough to say that they ran out of stories to tell.

Loved Crystalized, but Dragons Rising is SO good its crazy. Easily one of the best Seasons of the show imo. I especially love what they did to Kai. Giving him someone to teach who is incredibly similar to his old self works wonders for him and his character. Far better than what they tried to do with him in the past years *cough Season 11*

Yeaaah, DR s1 has to be my top 3 fav seasons, they did it so well. They fixed Kai, which was really cool to see, especially after seeing him declining since ss11.

I don’t call DR a different series idk how to explain. But it’s the greatest thing to have happened since MOTO Absolutely phenomenal so far. And not having all the old main characters on screen much is also great (I swear nobody cared about Jay until everyone realized he was only in the first season for like 30 seconds). Honestly certain concepts won’t be thrown out tho like the oni/dragon arc for example. Wouldn’t be smart to bring all the old concepts back, but just the acknowledgment of them, like how Lloyd referenced Morro at the end of ep5

Great video! I loved Kai's dynamic with Wyldfyre. Honestly some of the best writing for him since pre-SoG. And Lloyd's character was done excellently as well. It also opened up a lot of new doors for future plot lines and lore, which makes me so excited for Season 2.

I love that you mentioned how Sora is a Transgender Allegory in how her parents try to force her into being what they think is right instead of allowing her to be who she knows she is. They even Deadname her. It's no accident she wears the colours of the Transgender pride flag. However, I do wish they'd fully committed and made her originally assigned male.

I mean its already insane we get trans representation at all in Ninjago, so I won't ask for much more. And it's really well done too. It's not shoved in your face & I didn't realise she was a trans allegory at first glance.

Dragons rising is a massive breath of fresh air after Crystallized. It’s not perfect but it is a massive improvement. However, I have one big a problem with it. My biggest problem with dragons rising is the entirety of the last djinn. The entire thing just feels like one massive blue balling for Skybound fans and the entire episode is just a massive missed opportunity. Nya literally having no reaction to seeing another djinn is super weird and makes no sense for her character. She doesn’t even mention Skybound at all. The events of Skybound have a literally never been mentioned in the show since season 6. This was the perfect time to finally talk about it but for whatever reason the writers just decided not to even though this was the perfect opportunity. The episode also makes wish magic even more confusing. This episode is one of the most disappointing things I have ever watched. As a episode its ok I guess but it could’ve been so much more. I’ve heard people say the writers must have not wanted the characters to talk about Skybound because they didn’t wanna alienate new viewers but that makes literally no sense. Who starts a show on season 16 (yes I know it’s a new series, but it still continues the story of the previous series and anybody that starts with dragons rising before watching the previous series will be very confused). Dragons rising doesn’t even explain who jay is. New viewers are going to be confused no matter what. Things like Nya having literally no reaction to seeing another djinn despite literally dying because of one is just a bad writing and it’s one of the most disappointing things I’ve ever seen in the show

Agree here. It was super weird seeing Nya act all casual with another Djinn when she was literally groomed with her last interaction with one. Not saying that she should'nt have spoken to Arrakore, but she should've at the bare minimum have a reaction to seeing another Djinn. The wish magic thing was also kinda weird, since it kinda contradicts Skybound. And the whole thing with hope and all that was written very awkwardly to be the resolution to the episode, and just felt like it was there for plot convenience.

@@kylmiii it honestly just feels like the writers love to bully Skybound fans💀. They have been teasing Nadakhans return for ages now but nothing ever comes of it despite how much potential it has

@@ibrahimy8805 it’s cool seeing another djinnn again and I think it’s really funny how they had to say that he can’t use all of his full power because if he could, he could literally just solve Every problem in the show in two seconds. Imo Nadakhan is the best villain the show has ever had and it really annoys me how they keep teasing his return and they just never do anything with it

I stopped watching Ninjago around when MOTM first came out cause I tried to watch prime empire but it was honestly so boring to me.

@@kylmiii I recently went back and watched every season I’ve missed. I like MOTM and Seabound, but still stuck with Prime Empire. Dragons rising was also pretty good.
