Braun Toothbrush Battery Replacement 3738.
Amazon :
Braun Oral-B Pro rex.red/braun-oral-b-pro *
Battery: rex.red/nimh-aa-battery *
Braun Oral-B Triumph Battery Replacement for the v1 toothbrush.
Type 3738 electrical toothbrush.
You can get replacement tabbed batteries but they are more expensive and harder to find.
Replacing the tabbed Ni-MH tabbed battery with a regular AA battery.
The AA (HR6) Ni-Mh battery is the easiest rechargeable battery you can find.
You can use any capacity battery, the higher capacity the better.
Replacement battery specifications:
Panasonic Eneloop Ni-Mh rechargeable, 1.2v 1900mAh+
You could use the IKEA rechargeable batteries or any battery.
DO NOT USE AN ALKALINE OR ANY NON-RECHARGEABLE BATTERY!

Good explanation. The battery I bought had two metal tabs soldered on, and they had to be made more narrow using a pair of scissors. It's also worth pointing out that the metal screw that attaches the LCD screen to the board needs an H1.5 hex-head driver to remove and reinstall it.

Thank you. I wish I had watched this video first. I spent $20 on a replacement battery on Amazon. I could have purchased a 4 pack of Eneloop batteries for less than that. Oh well. Next time. Thank your of the explanation. One tip I got from another video, use a small socket to put the ring back on. You get even pressure all the way around.

Thanks, this was helpful. Changed my battery, but what a pain. Seems like they purposely tried to force their customer to buy a new toothbrush when the battery dies.

That's the modern way things are done... I guess they had to allow opening for recycling only because or regulations... Otherwise it would have a self-destruct for on opening :D

Hello everyone, I have an Oral B 3731, my friend soldered a new battery for me. But from now on this electric toothbrush won't turn on, My friend checked it with a meter and the motor of this toothbrush works. But the toothbrush button does not turn on the toothbrush and the battery charge status does not appear on the display. Can anyone help and advise what is the reason why the toothbrush does not want to turn on after replacing the battery?

Even after charging? Maybe the brush atachment gets stuck. Could try another one.

Try cleaning anything that looks dirty. Alcohol or oil on Qtips. In this case it will have toothpaste and water deposit buildup. Carefully on any electronic parts. But rule of making things last and work better, from washers, dryers, refrigerators, etc, etc, learn how to keep them clean, cool, oiled where needed...they'll last forever. I'm a lady DIYer, with an engineer father, and trust me on that rule. KZfaq should have 'how tos' for maintenance for all household things. I learned the logic way.

I replaced my battery, but even with the new one, I cant get more than 2 minutes of use, before battery goes from fully charged to 0.

Probably a bad battery or damaged during soldering. Try another battery. If you solder the tabs on it, do it within 2-3 seconds then let it cool.

Mine is the model 3731 version 1. How can one test the base for voltage? I heard another person comment that he changed the battery but the issue turned out to be the base. I soldered in the new battery. The display comes on in German only. One word displays. Aufladen. Translates to the word "charging", I think, however it says that even when not on the charger base. "Aufladung" means charge, I think. It does NOt say that or anything in english nor does pushing the two buttons do anything. When I took apart the toothbrush, unscrewing the base, concerns me. I unscrewed it all the way. Did I possibly fall prey to an Oral-B intended obsolence sceme to damage the charge coil or something? Any help is appreciated!! I'll buy you a coffee.

The base coil might be slightly bent. It happened to me and I just put it back in the original approximate position. As long as the coil wires are not broken it's fine. If the charger is the problem, I don't know.

@@IONHowTo Thank you so much for your reply! I cleaned the circuit board with alcohol and the display connector. Now its better in that I have complete control of selecting languages and the 2-minute timer setting. Now, with the "new" tested at 2.36 volt battery off amazon, I get the "Empty - Plug in" display. There is no change and no charging when i use the 2.4 watt, #3731 charger. So I tested resistance of the charger. I get 5.5 on the 200M scale. I tested a known good Phillips SoniCare charger base to compare with. It shows 5.4. The coil was tested for continuity. Its fine. I piggybacked a 1.5 AA battery to the installed new Amazon Batter. No change in charge status. Does it require that I put the outer shell casing on the unit in order to test it? I cant find mine at the moment, but its here somewhere.

It sounds like you have a different battery and that's fine. As long as the battery voltage is the same as the old one it should be fine. Yeah the coil will only work in the correct position so it has to be installed in the shell and closed for the coil in the changer and the coil in the brush to be aligned.

I tried to add captions on as many videos as I could. It's really difficult but what you see is what needs to be done. I just describe what I'm doing. Be sure to use the correct polarity and thats all. You can use Ladda batteries from ikea if you don't already have eneloops.

Salut, am inlocuit si eu acumulatorul original cu mai multi acumulatori AA, printre care si Eneloop pro noi si din pacate nu functioneaza...pun la incarcat, se incarca si cand dau start, apare goala bateria, am pus in cele din urma acumulatorul original si merge, dar evident nu tine decat vreo 2-3 spalari pe dinti. Ai idee de ce nu imi functioneaza cu acumulatorii AA?

Nu stiu. Eu am folosit Eneloop obisnuite. Verifica sa nu intre apa in carcasa.
