That's excellent! You video work is extraordinary. It's very clear and you don't have your hands getting in the way of the action. You explained the process in a very straight forward way. I think I could repair an electronic item if I had to, based on your videos. I've seen other channels that show repairs and the production values are not very good usually and discussion is not so clear.

Great video but very important: Always fully charge the batteries before installing. If they are not charged equally the life of your new batteries will be reduced since the charging circuit lacks a balancing circuit.

Looks great but I have a pg-6025 with a Li battery. Cross the wires on my sucker and you get a fire. Really hard to open my trimmer just as well since there is a BMS in the trimmer that could also be the problem too. Remington though was good and agreed to replace even though the manufacturer date was over two years. Bought the thing at a close out place so it could have been sitting somewhere for quite awhile. I will try to fix it latter buy it might not be easy.

I love my PG-400 trimmer However the small charging circuit which the adapter cord plugs into burned out. There is one diode and one resistor in it. They are both burned out. Can you tell me the values of these two components please. This circuit is in the back end of the trimmer and held in with two screws right behind the charge LED.

I didn't note them. If you can see it in the video that's it. But the diode is there just to prevent reverse current flow so you can check the voltage of your charger and find one that is made for that voltage+ 50% or double. 20v-60v should be ok if they exist. For the resistor is easier. Use Ohm law to figure out the power and the resistance needed. You can tell the power from the size of the resistor and the resistance from the lines if they are visible if not. Calculate. These batteries need to be charged show so 200mah should be safe for them. Voltage I guess 5V, you can check on your charger. Checked now pg-400 3.5V 1200ma. So to get 250mah current to the batteries with a 3.5V charger Resistance = Voltage / Current R = 3.5 / .25 R = 14 And power less than 1Watt so any cheap R14 resistor or nearby 13-15

The Ikea battery has different rated voltage than the original battery though. How will that affect the trimmer performance & charging time?

The writing on the original batteries is a bit confusing. It says 2.4v but thats for both as a set. Any nimh AAA battery is 1.2v. 1.2v is series makes 2.4 volts same as original.

@@IONHowTo Thanks. I've just disassembled mine today. Apparently my trimmer only uses 2 AAA instead of AA. No wonder the charge barely last more than 10 minutes.

Was that trimmer (that remington model) any good? There is an offer of that model at 35 euros! Is it worthy for buying it? I want it for haircuts (for me)!

This thing always made more noise than cutting hair. To quickly trim the beard it’s decent bit not for haircuts. There another bigger model and powered by AC power... any brand... the regular size hairdressers use.

I like the Remmington Model PG-6020. Its a great unit that does everything. Has many different attachments to take care of all manscaping needs. The razor head is sharp enough to cut your hair, but not to sharp to cut your balls! After using it for 3+ years I had to replace the rechargeable battery. It only cost me $4.00 for a two pack. The unit only uses one battery, so I have an extra if needed at a later time. Good luck with your desicion.
