In this video, Brandon Carter analyzes Drake's biggest mistake that led to his loss against Kendrick Lamar in their rap beef, using insights from Robert Greene's book "The 48 Laws of Power." After a brief introduction, Brandon discusses his surprise at Kendrick's victory and shares his thoughts on why Kendrick came out on top.
Brandon explains his credibility in discussing the rap beef and highlights the key differences between Drake and Kendrick's styles compared to other rappers. He then delves into the specific law from "The 48 Laws of Power" that Drake broke, which he believes was a critical error.
Brandon reviews Drake's album releases and talks about the challenges of staying on top for too long, suggesting that Drake became a victim of his own success. He goes deeper into Law 4 from the book, offering advice to Drake on how to avoid such pitfalls in the future.
He also shares his personal take on the music of both artists, pointing out one of the worst things a man can say in the context of their rivalry. Finally, Brandon encourages viewers to read Robert Greene's "The 48 Laws of Power" for more insights and wraps up with his concluding thoughts on the topic.

Biggest mistakes Drake made in this beef. 1) He didn't heed Kendrick's warning and keep it "Friendly". 2) A.I. Tupac & Snoop. Mad disrespectful and corny. 3) That 'Slave' line in Family Matters. 4) He got out rapped, period. 5) He got beat at his own game with 'Not Like Us' it's a Bop!

Dissing everybody and not the main opponent is ONE of the reasons why he lost. He focused too much on everybody else with the song Family Matters and not expected Kdot to hit the red button on Meet the Grahams that dropped 10 mins after! Another L was him taunting and underestimating the info Kendrick had on him this entire time. He is too arrogant to accept he cant win against Kdot so its a wrap either way lol

Brilliant break down. Catch 22 because Drake making less music means making less hits and money. If he was unable to make so many hits, it would be an easy reason to slow down on music 🎶

You can’t say people chose Kendrick from jump when there’s compilations of people in the media and social media taking Drake side over Kendrick until somewhere around meet the grahams. They were literally against Kendrick until they couldn’t justify it anymore

Drake lost because his opponent is a better rapper, is of the culture rather than being a vulture, and because his opponent is not going through an identity crisis at almost 40 years old.

The real winner is UMG (their parent record label). I'm not knocking your insights. But as a discerning businessman, this was promo. And Kendrick didn't reveal anything that Drake didn't already get away with. The Pusha beef was very real. And you could tell it affected Drake on a deep level. But there's still insights to be learned from you, OG. And as a former major record label signee, I'd love your thoughts on my theory.

I think Drake was trying to come off like an underdog by having lines targeting different people in Pushups and Family Matters but it came off more unfocused. If he would have put out full songs at each of them though it would have been really effective. Would be a crazy amount of work though.

What up King Keto! I feel like you missed some critical points my man. (Or maybe you said them but I didnt catch them lol). 1 - Kendrick claims and accusations were far heavier. Calling him a pdfile and stuff. Sure the allegation itself caused a huge damange without any definitive proof so far. 2 - the rumors (or proven allegations? Im not sure) of Drake having ghostwriters took a lot of his credibility, mainly from hip hop fans (not so much to his casual listeners though, of course, but those arent the ones much involved in this feud) 3 - Kendrick's lyricism and rhythms were more sophisticated, thought out, made more sense. Especially in the rap battle songs. He showed he is the superior rapper overall, despite not being the most entertaining. Its like Drake is a Conor McGregor of music. Has his talents, sure, is entertaining, sure, is able to generate a lot of attention and money, sure. But Kendrick is more one of those fighters that while not as entertaining as Conor, is a GOAT, like a GSP or Mighty Mouse type of guy, someone who is at the very top of the craft instead of generating entertainment out of the craft.

I was with you until you said you never hear Kendrick’s music or see anyone listening to it. His last tour broke Drakes then record of grossing $76 million to Kendrick grossing $106 million being the highest grossing rap tour ever! Drake recently broke it again, but he had J. Cole and Lil Durk on that tour too. Kendrick had Baby Keem and his new artist, Tanna Leone. Those people were there to see Kendrick. “Good Kid mAAd City” is the longest charting rap album ever! It’s still on the charts now after 12 years! I listen to Kendrick every day. I Don’t go to dance clubs, and he has songs for that environment too. I’m tired of people making it seem like most of “us” don’t really enjoy and listen to Kendrick just because YOU and your crew don’t. I like lyrical rap. That’s who listens to Kenny over Drake, lyrical rap fans. Kendrick is a superior lyricist period, that’s why he earned the Pulitzer, for his lyricism! That’s how we KNEW Drake would lose regardless of the subject matter Kenny chose to focus on. Logical Drake fans even knew he would lose. I knew Drake would put out some great songs, and he did, but I knew he couldn’t DEFEAT King Kendrick!

I appreciate you relating to me, when i felt like us Light skin dudes got set back about 50 years. But i definitley think He'll be back. Either in another album talking about the hate he went through, or in a big business deal that we know none of these rappers can do, like Jay Z did. Or both. But everytime I see you talk, I know there is that underlining Lightskin excellence that everybody roots for no matter where we come from bc we have the bigger picture in mind, we're inclusionary with people, and we can relate to everyone on a deep level. For that reason I think Drake's not done if he leans into his strengths, as long as no Diddy or RKelly allegations become real of course. 😅

It’s not about being light skin though that’s not what Kendrick was attacking him on it was him faking his authenticity through the culture
@imshaun4563
@imshaun4563 Ай бұрын
@@Casually_watching34 I get what you're saying, but Kendrick made a mistake with some lines in Euphoria that didn't sit well. The lines about the hate for Drake said needing black features to feel like he's black enough. And then trying to snatch his black card, as if a person like Drake never experienced hate from Jews in an all Jewish school. If he's half black he's been black by white standards is concerned. And he grew up in Memphis with his Dad partially in his life. So he's gonna lean on one of his cultures. * Kendrick could have kept it about how he heard Drake steals lyrics, or uses writers, or even steals rapping styles. But he made it about race was a mistake he tried to cover for in Not Like Us. But then he made it about stealing a culture again describing Atlanta history in the 3rd verse basically like Drake is a plant. And this is where Kendrick gets wierd leaning on conspiracy theory more than his own talent to beat Drake. He lost me there and I think he lost a lot of lighter skinned or half black people bc he never came out and took back his comments in Euphoria. He didn't keep it about Drake as an individual. He had to reach too hard to make him a colonizer which doesn't match his history being that his Black Dad was in his life and has helped him build his music production.

@@imshaun4563 In Meet the Grahamms Kendrick addresses Drakes son Adonis who is more white passing then Drake as a black man so I don’t think this is about him being light skin at all or Jewish none of that it’s about how he pretends to know the struggles and wear blackness as a costume
@Casually_watching34
@Casually_watching34 Ай бұрын
@@imshaun4563 Kendrick is talking about Drake faking the American black experience as if he knows what it means to struggle as a black man in America he’s cosplaying something he was not born in and as you say about the Jewish thing I fell like if he would’ve stool to his authentic self being that Jewish black kid from Toronto Canada then people wouldn’t have a problem with him in the hip hop game take lil yatchy for example him and Drake both have similarities coming from fairly similar backgrounds but Yatchy is more authentic cause he’s not faking his whole personality. Drake is being called a culture vulture cause he steals from other cultures other artists. Just like that line on family matters always rapping like you trying to get the slaves free. It didn’t sit right with most people because he’s playing into what Kendrick is talking that he is not culturally aware cause if he was he wouldn’t use something as horrible as slaverly to try and attack someone. And that line about being a colonizer was a response to the line that Drake said in family matters
@imshaun4563
@imshaun4563 Ай бұрын
@@Casually_watching34 I do think Drake could have changed that slave wording. I think he meant Kendrick is always angry in his music. And he stays way in the past. *STILL remember Aubry has a Black father from Memphis. Who he did spend partial time with as early as 10 years old. I don't know where you're from but Memphis is in the South part of the U.S. which has a big Black American population. That's plenty of time in his life to organically meet and hang with OTHER Black people and see the " Black Experience". But also he went through his own "Black Experience" in a Jewish School. That couldn't have been fun. There is no Keeping it Canadian. Or Cosplay when youre half Black. You have to think about what Black people go through in the U.S., is what we go through everywhere. Except all Black countries like Nigeria or Guana or someplace. Bc we are still not considered from anywhere but Africa to them.
