Many people think that Drakes First loss in Hip Hop was To Pusha-T but the beef that's over looked is his feud with Common! I decided to breakdown the beef in detail in this one.

Drake throws rocks and hides his hand. He had plenty of things to say subliminally and on stage but when he was called out for it and it was time to ACTUALLY get down for real, he completely ducked Common. It’s an undeniable loss.

You're undeniably not smart or pretending to be dumb for engagement lmao Drake smoked him with a classic verse and went on about his career 😂 You think the biggest rapper at this time was gonna go on a 60 part rap battle with a semi old-school rapper on some 8 mile sh!t ? Then common even admitted he was in his feelings cuz Drake smashed serena. Claming this is a Drake L is dumb. Asserting that nobody looked at Common as a "tough guy" because he didn't portray himself as a gangster or make music about being so is kind of wild. Masculinity isn't defined by criminality. There's plenty of "soft" guys in prison.
@whatsthedirt5 ай бұрын
I’m not saying that it’s about criminality. But when it comes down to his music (which was 40’s argument) he wasn’t the best person to be calling anyone “soft” or “sweet”. Are you familiar with his catalogue?

Unless you’re from Chicago and of a certain age you know common and where he’s from. I’m from the crib and in my mid 40’s common was a 4CH (4 Corner Hustler) from the crib. He’s of the old school pedigree of rappers before NWA came on the scene. It’s like he don’t need to promote the thug in his music real G’s didn’t rap about the life . If you know you know. I like how u put this material out. First, by analysis, since this is more or less doubling as a hip hop channel and a podcast channel on KZfaq referencing what’s really going on in hip hop today, I’d say to not let your guard down on drake. People are buying his albums. Talking about him. Streaming his records. Relating to it more than they relate to others. He’s the talk of the year and even the decade. And in each record he drops, he always disses rappers. Before u released the video on the drake v Kendrick beef, he typically dissed Kendrick again. And again. The next record, he will keep dissing. He is like a ho that had too many niggas bang him wrong. So he puts out his frustrations on record and many relate to it quickly. Plus common is right about one thing - Drake releases ho music. And Common is just one of the few rappers that will call Drake out by name. Drake only hides behind subliminals and it is really good when u gave a crash course on how rap beef works. No one can force Kendrick or Common to release new albums. We are all hoping that those two bring out something good very soon. And that’s because I, for an example, am very tired of listening to one rapper dominating the charts with pillow rap music. One minute, a good dope rapper drops material that should be talked about and the streams comes short. The next minute, drake releases predictable music and everyone be like drake did this and drake did that. It’s tiring.

All ima say is looks can be deceiving and don’t take kindness for granted or as a weakness.. Common is well respected in the streets and no one ever thought he was sweet. He stands on all ten toes as a man.

But Drake didn't get an L... Even though Common will always take credit for getting Drake to respond even though he had said "Diss me, you'll never hear a reply for it"

Even the pusha t beef made drake so much more popular. Sure he loses the “beef” but he never really does. Drake is smart and very good at capitalizing on attention.

I'm from Chicago. And common was not seen as one of them ones. I honestly didn't listen to common until the 2010s because he had such a beta male , soft guy energy around him. But he is indeed a dope and skilled rapper. Just too simpy. Other wise I would bump him like nas

I don't think its overlooked, the overall sentiment at the time (from my recollection) was Drake either held his own or won the feud with Common. Drake had good responses to Sweet, and then it came out that Common was upset over a woman (Serena Williams)...

I definitely knew about also Drake losing to Common, which pisses me off that the general public disagreed with that. I even had someone disrespect me online about it. These certified d riders need to be honest with themselves by not being biased whenever they’re “god” is in a beef with someone or a conversation about whose the greatest is in Hip-Hop..
