I've never laughed so hard at an English dub ever in my entire life. I swear, it sounds like they just got a random guy off the street, told him to say all these lines, and then just pitched his voice up or down as needed lol

Well Gabriel Regojo is not a name you commonly hear (he had “additional characters” to his name before he was cast as Aoba) but I agree, I wouldn’t cast him as Aoba if he gonna give me flat & deadpan deliveries like these. But if I was in the ADV director’s chair I would go “that’s great, but Atsushi gave it some emotional depth, like he’s more annoyed than angry so can you say that line again but give the hint of “I love you but I want to punch you in your snarky little face”, ok?”

this entire situation was an absolute fever dream. the game itself was convoluted but still great in its own right, after the game we get the anime adaptation which was super janky and disappointing, then to top it off we get THIS dub which was completely out of left field- till this very day i struggle to accept it's even real it's just so bizarre. a perfect storm, being in the dmmd fandom has been an absolute emotional rollercoaster

The moment I saw the Sentai logo & heard the dub, I knew David Matranga, Andrew Love (Mink), Greg Ayres (Clear) & Marcy Bannor (Tae/Granny or Ba-Chan) was going to be a part of this...somehow. David & Andrew did a pretty good job as as Koujaku & Mink (to the best of their ability & whatever Chris Ayres (RIP) was smoking when he wrote the script)
