Being a colour blind artist, the labeling of the colors in this video is very helpful and appreciated.

TheSourceOfTheNile Actually, I think if a color blind person makes art the way they see it can make for cool art.

Oof that's not a good idea lol I do that too though but I'm not trying to be professional If anyone seeing this uses their finger that's not a good idea because the oil on your fingers Will get on the paper and it won't blend as well so if you don't have any good blending materials you could use a white colored pencil or a tissue

I’m honestly so glad to know that other people seemed to get nervous when drawing on the eyelashes. I’ve done before but never in colored pencil. I have work around if I mess up using graphite, and if I’m doing them digitally it’s pretty simple to re-do them.

Thank you for talking in this video. There's a lot of videos on how to draw but they don't talk through and splaining what they're doing and why they're doing it. They just show. Thank you so much.
@taylors59817 жыл бұрын
Oh my god! This video seriously helped so much. I seriously didn't expect to be able to make such a realistic eye! But i went step by step and was able to take the time to really blend and layer/build up colors.
@taylors59817 жыл бұрын
Of course it doesn't look as good as the one in the video but only because i don't practice drawing as much as i should and normally don't use colored pencils often usually just graphite so the fact that it came out so good surprised me. It is rare to find such a helpful drawing video on here since most of the time the person speeds up the footage so it is hard to see what they're doing but this is great!
@TheJimbojon8 жыл бұрын
Thanks. What a great tutorial. Instructions all so fluent and well organized. I find it really hard though, how you create something, then seem destroy it with the next addition and then spread the colour, and then again at some later point reconstruct it. Yet all of these steps are so important. Hope to gain the gist with practice. Thanks so much!!

I am amazed how you are able to teach so well. I am an artist myself and have tried a variety of youtube videos with step by step instructions to learn new techniques but none have been by far the most helpful as yours. I now have my very own realistic eye all thanks to your video. May others see how well your skills are as i have.:-)

I have ZERO experience with colored pencils and have always kind of written them off as a tool for doodling or given to kids with coloring books, basically never taken them as a serious medium. So unfortunate for me!! I snagged a large bag of the same prismacolor you’re using here at a thrift store ( about 60-70 brand new!!) for $4.99!! I was also unaware of what their value was and almost walked away from it! So glad I snatched them up… I love em!! In fact, I’m only missing the light peach out of the colors you were using in this video but I have a peach that should work just fine, I believe, with the right amount of pressure and blunting. I had no idea that you could blend these and buttery they are! Absolutely amazing and I now I am curious as to other brands that are popular with colored pencil artists. I’m really enjoying them, I love so many aspects they offer, I really am kicking myself for not taking them seriously for this long! But here, at least I didn’t totally miss out on them and I am enjoying the hell out of them now! Do you have any suggestions for paper? I am primarily a watercolor artist so I have a variety of types, thicknesses, and textures at my disposal currently and really haven’t settled on any single type yet. Any advice would be greatly excepted! Thank you for the great video, from this one and I’ve learned quite a bit! Also, if I don’t have a blender yet, do you have any other suggestions that would be similar? I haven’t fully looked into exactly what a blender is but I am assuming that it is just a clear waxy, buttery burnishing type tool? 🤘💪

wow, I'm just 13 years old, my aunt came from Pakistan and showed me how to draw eyes since she took fine arts in college. I use her techniques but they were way too hard to master and need time to master. I tried your way and everything came out perfectly. it doesn't look exactly the same, but very similar. this video helped a lot! you don't even need prisma colors, u can use polychromos which I am using (expensive too). i just need a little more practice on the outside of the iris, it is quite tough for me to make the white part look real.great video, keep it up. definitely liked and suscribed.
