@@Eckred as someone who's whole humor is pretending to be a big old dummy? Best way, weirdly, is to "mishear" things. "I gotta go meet my parents" "Why? Are you in a fight?" "What?" "Oh, I thought you said you needed to beat your parents." "... No." Also, make really mundane observations like they're the coolest thing. Like just stop and look at a bug some time. Or remark how cool it is that we have thumbs. Or some other inane BS. The best thing is? Those things actually *are* neat. Learn about some entomology and anthropology on the sly. The only difference in doing it as a joke and pretending to be stupid is the subversion. This is ostensibly how British humor works. No subversion with witty one-liners makes it seem like you aren't in on the joke.

@@weebjeez That's actually very insightful. It's kind of an Intelligence Play/ Battle of Wits sort of scenario. There are times in conversation when I'll notice I'm saying things that are going over the head of the other person. This is a good opportunity to play it off as not being able to accurately comprehend what THEY are saying. I like to go for the total conversation break down at this point and leave them feeling confused and slightly disappointed.

And this is why I always ask people what they want to do with their art. Hobby? Do what ever. Animation? It is good to be able to replicate and create new styles on the fly. Niche? ... then do what ever again, but be one of the best. Aaron Blaise can definitely draw people, but he mostly only ever draws creatures. He was in charge of Rajah in Aladdin. Helped with Beast in Beauty and the Beast. Worked on Lion King and was the director of animation for Brother Bear. Everyone goes to him for animals or creatures with the appearance thereof. He talks about all the times he'd study animals as a kid and now regularly goes to Africa to see the wild up close and personal as he LOVES drawing large cats. He's everyones creature art teacher!

Dumb lil’ fact about the word “gamut”: it comes from music! Back in ye olde times when people were still figuring out how to define notes, there was a set lowest note. Going by the “do, re, mi” naming system, which actually used to use “ut” instead of “do,” the lowest “ut” (which we would now call a G) was called “Gamma ut.” Eventually, the entire scale became known as the “gamut,” and now a gamut can be any range of things!

@abbeyv4148
@abbeyv4148 2 жыл бұрын
Per Karina’s request: 1. I would weasel my way into his inner life by offering my services as a personal assistant. He may be a hot mess, but messes can be cleaned. So I would convince him that he really needs to dry clean his clothes to maintain their quality and avoid irritation to his smooth, delicate skin. Then every time I bring his clothes back from the dry cleaners, I would swap the most offensive piece of clothing for something similar but less gaudy. If ever suspected, I would have the perfect scapegoat: “Oh, your business crop top seems longer now? It must have grown in the wash. They do say that their ultra conditioning cleaning process can actually lengthen and relax the fibers of your clothing.” 2. Through meticulous soothing gaslighting, I would lull him into passive non-objection as his wardrobe becomes increasingly more professional and less eccentric with each trip to the cleaners. I’d compound these efforts with subtle rewards and positive affirmations, such as “Oh sir, your full length pants you’ve chosen this morning look stunning. They flatter you so well while still communicating playfulness. Here’s a small chocolate for no reason whatsoever.” 3. He may suspect the manipulation, but by this point, the constant flattery and chocolates are too intoxicating to stop. Now here comes the fun part: 4. As our relationship grows, I will start dressing more casually- occasionally incorporating in a scarf here, some tights there that whisper of a vivacious nearly forgotten past. This will make me seem both familiar and exciting, and soon we’ll start seeing more and more of each other. 5. When he starts suggesting more fashionable outfits for me, I’ll know that the transformation is complete and it’s time to sign him up for marketing emails from jewelers and makers of fine engagement rings. 6. On the night he pops the question, I’ll have tears in my eyes, not from the dazzling ring but from the grey 3 piece brushed cachemire suit with Italian leather shoes and coordinating cuff links he’s wearing. Not a galaxy nor cat ear in sight. Do I take full credit for this amazing transformation? Yes, “I do.” 7. The grand finale comes on the eve of our wedding when I round the corner of the church and he catches his first glimpse of me from the altar. His eyes widen in surprise and a myriad of disparate feelings overtake him. He drops to his knees, struggling for breath as I take my first steps down the aisle, sandals slapping my sheer-tight clad feet. Every eye in the room travels up my meticulously scarved calves to my cropped galaxy cat printed leggings, skimming over my sinfully bare midriff to my lime green business crop top and skinny black tie. Murmurs of confusion rise to a dull rumble as the crowd regains their breath. I reach up to my (cat) ears, flick a switch, and all goes silent. I stand before him now and extend a garishly manicured hand to help him from his knees. As I pull him close to me, our eyes lock and I see a slight smile play across his lips tempered by a wariness in his eyes. I return a knowing smile. This is my hot mess CEO husband, and now he knows who’s the boss.

I had to look it up, myself, cus even though I knew the fact, I haven't seen the movie, lol. Dustin Hoffman in Midnight Cowboy. He's crossing the street having a conversation when a car literally almost hits him. He plays it off so smoothly that you'd think it was planned as part of the script, but no, he frigging improv'd an in-character reaction to almost getting hit by a car and continued to play out the scene.

Multi studded belts was peak fashion in high school. I liked to rock one black, and one colored, but really they didn't even function as belts. Then just kinda hung from one or 2 belt loops each, while a shoe string held up my pants.

The whole thing about "when you're in a Zoom meeting you only need to be dressed on the upper torso" -- universe-brain, if you wear a midriff-baring shirt that cuts off right below where the Zoom window ends so it looks like you're wearing a whole shirt, it's a doubly apropos use of the term "crop top"

@@reginacoeli7106 (it doesn't hurt that im 5'10 tho so pls be aware im speaking with a bias and a slight natural advantage xD but i also used these as a child and they worked fine so) How i was taught was: Stand up straight, shoulders back, chin up - maybe even add a slight glare for affect. Take long strides and , MOST IMPORTANTLY: use your entire body to emphasize where you're headed so others can pick up on it. (ive used waving/pointing my hand left/right when im about to turn, or tilting my head. etc). Basically (if you can drive) think of it as using turn signals, or merging lanes, etc. There is crowd language toward where people are going. use it to your advantage. My mother taught me a different tip which im not sure how helpful it is? But ill share anyway: Imagine a loved one is injured and you're going to get them. Literally just walk with direction, speed and purpose and you should be good! Hope that helps
