@@SiyaOum Are you intending for this manga to be a one-shot and then you'll focus on Neo Wonderland, or is the ending going to leave the door open for a continuation of the story in the future? Also, out of curiosity, are you going to style the layout to read back-to-front and to read right-to-left like a Japanese manga? Excited for you...enjoy every step!

@@johnf6861 Great questions! Thank you for this. I have at least 3 volumes planned for this story. The first tankoban will be released, then I switch to Neo Wonderland. I never quite catch these live, but oh well, I’m always excited to watch. You have special talent. Best of luck. You know I’m pulling for you. I’m almost to the part of my story where I finally get to reveal my dragon like sapient starship, Aurielroth. Once it re-emerges from its dark-lamp, absorbs everything within 50 yards or so, and reforms itself, it’s gonna be hovering there, just off the ground in a desolate circle, with a bow like a dragon skull, 4 sleek metallic wings, a split long tall sharp tail fin, and a stern like an old Riviera; unclear to readers exactly what kind of ship it is or what’s happened to our heroes inside. Then an orbital bombardment gets close enough to shake it, and his eyes open and glance up. Then his neck curls back and he growls as he seeks out the source of the disturbance. Then he vanishes, and dust lifts up off the ground, before he reappears in outer space amidst the battle of Avalon, and the dust settles. It’s gonna be so awesome. Been excited about writing it properly for months.

@@SiyaOumJeez, there’s short stories and fights I wrote over ten years ago as part of the loose first draft that I can barely wait to rewrite into this new grand narrative I’ve cooked up. Everything finally all fell together and it is very exciting indeed. That butterfly/moth winged cobra is badass, and I love the lines on that wyvern’s wings as well. And that castle is Berserk/Miura levels of epic. You can pretty much do it all, right up there with the very best of them.

I bumped into your channel while googling "watercolor manga" and I'm SO glad I found this channel! I have so many things to watch and learn now. I've been using watercolors and colored pencils for several years now. One of the problems I have though is limited layering with watercolors as previous layers will start to lift at some point. Any advice on this? So far I've tried acrylics which I absolutely hated and also transparent watercolor ground but it tends to pick up more non-staining pigments with it. I still need to try InkTense and acrylic inks.
@SiyaOum
@SiyaOum Жыл бұрын
Oh nice! So glad you found my channel as well, since I experiment A LOT! haha. I'm sure you have watched videos on how watercolors are traditionally layered, or how to approach a piece. From light, to dark, and so on. I find that it is very helpful, regardless of whether the final piece is made for comics/manga or not. That's how I approach it. Good luck!
@mmart829
@mmart829 Жыл бұрын
@@SiyaOum Thank you :) I definitely need to practice the layering. I have a tendency to try and keep everything super smooth so I work wet-in-wet a lot but I've started to realize that it simply stops working at some point. I should use more wet on dry and go for a more cel-shaded comic style I think. I tried it on a recent painting of an octopus and it actually worked. Just need to plan more so I can color in smaller areas and keep the wet droplet going before it dries. And some pigments simply won't stay put. My Permanent Yellowish Green by Rembrandt practically runs away when you look at it :D
@SiyaOum
@SiyaOum Жыл бұрын
@@mmart829 I try to focus only on keeping skin smooth, so I am very gentle with the amount of water to pigment ratio. Otherwise, cell shaded works for all the other elements.
