She’s talked about it before, and I am here to tell you all from experience that sudden and severe pain is not normal, and just plain overuse shouldn’t cause that. I powered through severe wrist and hand pain and swelling for years before getting a rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis. I still have bad days, but I haven’t had swelling so severe I can’t move my hand since I started on meds to control my disease. I don’t want to be scary, but please. Please. If you’re having wrist and hand pain severe enough to impact your work, don’t just write it off as overwork.)
