I doubt you'll see this, especially since this video is several months old, but I just want to thank you. Your videos have inspired me to start drawing again, and your sketchbook tours and supply boxes have brought the joy back to art for me, and I want to thank you. I feel like you've given me permission to be messy, and sketchy, to make mistakes and draw whatever wherever. I've always had this preconceived idea that finished sketchbooks should be pretty and colored, and nice and tidy illustrations. But that is, in fact, a portfolio, and you reminded me that a SKETCHbook is for SKETCHes. I really appreciate that. Keep doing what you're doing!!!

Oh my God WHAT it seems just like yesterday I was watching the Sketchbook flip number 24 and now this is already finished! what?!? this one went by so quickly! It seriously feels like you just started it out how is it already finished! what type of sorcery is that?? and the thing is that the more you flip through it I'm like 'oh yes I've seen this video' and 'I've seen that one too!' and 'I like that video a lot!' and then I start to realize oh my god there was a lot of videos for this Sketchbook but it still feels like it went by extremely quickly! Good on you for keeping on drawing and having so many things do you like in this Sketchbook and that you are proud of! I really enjoy this one and I can honestly say that a lot of the videos in this one helped me get through some very difficult times so thank you for that and I hope the drive to keep drawing and filling sketchbooks and improving with your art style and drawing would never end for you!❤

Merry Christmas!! We’re video posting buddies! I was planning on posting a video today too ☺️

Argh, the cover! I always feel like I have to change the cover, I do this first, usually collage. Something that might help newer sketchers: I think of each sketchbook as kind of like a magazine issue- they all have the same title, and the usual different volume numbers. One big inspiration to me is Dan Price, he calls his the "Moonlight Chronicles". Other great resources: Danny Gregory and one dangerous guy: Kim Jung Gi. Here I'm impressed with Waffles as I find people, characters and faces very challenging, this is I think one of the hardest subjects to draw. But when you really capture someone, it's very satisfying. Some other helpful things: the inside front cover is like a magazine or newspaper masthead- I usually put Identifying information and an editor's note which is typed, printed and glued in. Next, there are always a few drawings that all of my sketchbooks have: 1. A Buddha 2. An Anglerfish 3. An Elvis and 4. A selfie. For some odd reason I usually put a John Cougar Mellencamp in there saying "Oh Yeah, Life Goes on, Long after the thrill of livin is gone." The next time I sit down with it, I'm always on page 5 or 6, this kills the "First Page Blank Syndrome." I also like to very often put text with my images. And, if I really want to explore a subject I will do a long series of them: animals are great for this, you also have things like clowns, hobos, vehicles, buildings, your meals, songs, your pet, favorite characters, etc. Also guys- there is no such thing as "cheating" in art. Just don't try to pass off someone else's image as your own for sale. If you use something else as a basis for a piece, just make a few changes to it and bam! It's now yours more or less. Street art is a great inspiration as well.
