The rebranded and repackaged product of Power Rangers did VERY well in the west. For several seasons instead of following the Japanese model of each series being a new team he made a long form contiguous story until eventually each team became an independent entity in later iterations. Some series were ENTIRELY different from their source material. Some, involved a ton of shot for shot remakes in their out of costume scenes. Cosmic Fury is the first to do their own thing entirely, only shooting ten episodes using entirely original suits and only borrowing the mecha/vehicles from the Kyuranger series...which is sad because that was a fun looking space show with tons of aliens and robots among the assorted members of that large heroic cast.

Fun fact, as you noticed, the third season, Battle Fever J, has the first megazord/mecha of the entire franchise. The reason is that around the time that the season was being developed, Marvel and Toei (the company behind Super Sentai and Kamen Rider) brought Spider-Man to Japan in the form of Supaidaman and his transforming giant robot: Leopardon. Zyuranger, Dairanger and Kakuranger are what became the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series Season 1 was just basically taking Zyuranger action scenes and making up stories to tell with those action scenes and done pretty sloppily in the early episodes Season 2 took the Dairanger monsters, megazords and white ranger but kept the main 5 zyuranger suits and replaced the dairanger action fight scenes with new american scenes with zyuranger suits Season 3 took the Kakuranger monsters, megazords and Ninjor, plus a few of their main villains. Again shot new scenes with the zyuranger suits. The Kakuranger costumes made it into the show as the Alien Rangers after that they just went back to the season 1 method but with more consistent execution

Hell, a number of Power Rangers seasons and all three Power Rangers movies have been released dubbed in Japan by Sentai's owners Toei. The Dekaranger/Magiranger movie included Power Rangers SPD's battalizer as a Power Up, the first and only time that a normally Power Rangers exclusive form was adapted into Super Sentai. Koichi Sakamoto, the Stunt Coordinator and a producer/director on so many Power Rangers seasons also worked behind the camera on Kamen Rider & Super Sentai seasons and movies. Terms like "Its Morphin Time" and 'Megazord" were used in Go-Busters Yoshi Sudarso (Blue Ranger in Dino Charge) got to briefly cameo as a civilian character in an episode of Ninninger. Power Rangers SPD was directly referenced in an episode of Akibaranger. And that's just a small bit of it.
