I'm not wasting my time or money..thanks for sharing
@kasharaspivey967
We need a movie that uplifts the black man. For real!
@Rebelmoon777
Just in denial. This behavior is STILL happening! Your response should have been more along the lines of holding men accountable for whats still happening today.
@butterflyygyrlsworld5106
Ummm…this was based on the book from the 1980’s…the storyline didn’t change. Basically, you have an issue with Ms. Alice Walker, the author, right?
@rodrickmembers5993
Has he watched the last one or even book. It told the truth of how men acted.
@robyncat1
Has anyone ever read the Color Purple? Reading is fundamental y'all.
@mrrpswife
This movie is a depiction of Alice walker's own grandmother and family stories. Let it be what it is.
@profoundja9598
Alice Walker wrote one hell of a book🫠
@thatbemefool
Why is everyone forgetting this movie/musical is based off of A BOOK? Sheeeesh!
@anthonyrobertson6398
If you go to see the color purple.. you already know what it is...why complain?
@All.Natural.
Not making black men look bad, it's making abusive men look bad. If you're not an abusive man, then this shouldn't bother you.
@eshachavon9832
I’ve never seen so many dumbfounded people over the age of 40 that went to see this movie and then proceed to act like they had no idea what the movie was about!!
@tonettehinson8998
It's the same movie & I refuse to watch abuse, racism, broken relationships, homosexuality & sexual abuse to music. Im sick of Oprah period
@lajuanascruggs3947
took my 70 something mom to the original. She turned to me and said, "That's how it was back then. Parents gave you away, young girls raped by family members., ect and nothing was done about it. It was a fictional story that depicted true life in some parts of the south. Not to mention, white women were being beat too.
@paulmeacham2331
Black people have to start creating movies that empower the strength of our family and the pride within who we are.
@One_Of_One.1
I don't know why people thought this musical would be different from the play, the book, or the movie.
@strawberry_tuesday
I agree!!! Not sure why we needed a remake
@manie9639
The fact that the work of a black woman who wrote a piece of literature to give a voice to black women who were silenced by oppression on multiple sides is being negatively critiqued by a black man in this video speaks volumes. Feminism might seem like its unneeded in this time, but one may think otherwise by the contents of this video. I implore you to reflect on the true message Ms. Walker was trying to share with us.
@patriceesela5000
Saw the original, don't need to see it a second time, got the message the first time
@ClubberLang503
Thank you sir, I figured it would be that kind of movie, saved me a trip. 🤠👍!
