I've had my locs for 2 years now and I only wash and retwist once a month. I only use coconut oil in my hair when I retwist. I don't use a ton of product so I don't have a lot of buildup or residue in mine. People are also afraid of mold buildup if you wash too often. Mood is only an issue if you don't let your locs dry properly before tying them up. I almost never use a blow dryer. I usually get them as dry as I can with a towel and let them air dry or go in the sun.

And also I rlly appreciate how u one of the only dread heads that post a lot ur vids have a lot of good tips and ur locs look rlly nice too bro

My locs not that long but I get retwisted about every 2 months. I used to go every 2 weeks or 3 but my locks started to thin at the root. so yeah I don't get retwisted as much now. great video bruh!!!

Any advice on how to keep them from coming completely untwisted at the root between retwist? I'm 2 years in and fully Loc'd but I worry about my hair tangling too much if I don't retwist after wash!!?

I've had mine for about 5 years now and I wash twice a week. I do a quick wet twist in between getting them fully retwisted and I get a full retwist once a month. Some people worry about their locs drying out but i have a mixture of pure coconut oil and water in a spray bottle and spray my hair every other day and that keeps it nice and fresh and keeps my scalp from drying out as well. Your hair is looking good tho man.

Will your hair be able to lock enough strong for you to be able to play bout with handbands & all without it undoing? Like Jaden Smith. So I've had my dreads for about 2 years and every time I wash they like stick together and I have to pull them apart. Even a day after my wash they still stick together like a velcro of sorts. Other than constantly pulling them apart what u suggest I do to keep them separate.

I been having mine 3 years. The first year, I wash and retwist every 2 weeks. When I hit my 1 year, I would wash every week or 2 weeks and retwist once a month. When I hit my 2 year, I still wash the same but go several months with not retwist. I just hit my 3 year and haven't retwisted in about 9 months.

yo nice vid but keep in mind everybody's hair is different as far as the retwist ingredients goes as far as washing once a week to two weeks is best, this is my second time locking up dude and I've started mega people locs have over 50 clients at the moment. but yo shampooing and conditioning is two of the most important parts of not just locing but the beginning and continuance of and healthy head of hair. your hair looks good though dude

ion kno what mfs be talkin bout. i wash my shit at least once a week if not more and i got basically sum of the longest, healthiest most developed locs for anybody at the same time at me (7 months). people dont be realisin but if u wait too much longer than a week yo hair start stankin. not only that but the the more you wash it the faster it locks up. once you locked you shouldn't do more that 2 times a week cause of possible dread mold.

Some u tuber on here goes by Yannie the locologist says she recommends washing your locs Only Twice a year ( every 6 months ) or you might lose some hair strands and thin your locs.. I think she NASTY. I wash my hair once a week even when I didn't have locs. Otherwise personally my head itch and scalp get oily n sticky.
