I say, if Dream got the achievement, "The End... Again?" Then that implies that he killed the dragon first. It was just a bug that prevented him from getting the achievement.

The reason he didn’t get the advancement “Free The End” is because the dragon got resummoned as soon as it died so it caused a glitch. Dream did kill the dragon though, he just didn’t get the advancement because of that

I can confirm that Dream not getting the Free the End achievement was a bug because I tried doing that in my world where I put 5 end crystals in the center while the dragon is alive then I started to kill the dragon with a power 255 bow. When the dragon died, before respawning, I got the achievement first and the xp

In Minecraft 1.16.5 vanilla: *TESTED* You cannot respawn the dragon when another dragon is alive, but the instant after the first dragon dies, the second dragon will spawn. Killing the first dragon instantly grants the achievement [The End... Again...]. It does not grant the achievement [Free the End], and you need to kill the second dragon to get that achievement.

Basically, this is saying, if dream gets his hands on a totem, he not technically dead 👌🏻

I'm perplexed of how fast this dude picked up the wood from his messy inventory, made the boat mid-air at terminal velocity and clutched the landing...What. the. hell

that ending definitely left a sour taste in my mouth as a viewer as well, dream had such a good chance of killing the dragon if the resummon glitch didn't happen

this is 100% a win for dream, have they've always said that dream has to kill the dragon, not that they have to get the achievement. Also the whole dragon has to die before he's respawned implies that he killed the dragon. Most damming of all, the achievement that he got, "The End . . . Again . . ." (respawning the ender dragon) has the prerequisite (listed as parent achievement on the wiki) of "Free the End" (kill the ender dragon), which is the achievement that they were arguing that he doesn't have. I'd assume that if he'd look at his achievements that he would have that achievement and the notification of him getting said achievement might be in the chat log still but buried when all of them got the "The End . . . Again . . ." achievement.

We need an official manhunt rule book because so many manhunts have had dubious endings on technicalities that change a lot.

I still think Dream won. Even though there was no achievment, he did everything required to do so. Technically, they respawn the dragon, which requires it to be dead in the first place. It couldn't have healed it because he disappeared and his health bar went away, meaning the boss battle had ended, which means the dragon died.

Are they seriously not gonna talk about dreams play of making a boat mid-air and placing it to save his life!

Dream won that because if it says “ the end… again” then that clarifies that he killed it because they respawned the dead dragon

You can’t get the achievement “The End... Again” without getting “Free The End” so it was just a glitch, as for who won I’m unsure Edit: Ik on servers you can get the end again if someone else has already killed the dragon and you haven’t. However my point is someone has to have killed the dragon. No one got free the end not even the hunters.

Just to clarify, the ending IS in fact, a glitch. if you put the crystals in the correct spot BEFORE the dragon dies, it will respawn with no achievement, no drops, no animation. I think he killed the dragon and it entered its “dying” state, and at the same time, it was forced to respawn, skipping the final death sequence and therefore also skipping the achievement.

I love rewatching these videos, I took a little break rewatching them cause I didn't want to waste them all and there are a couple left but I think this should've been a neutral game cause I'm pretty sure the intended mechanic is that you can only get that achievement if the Free The End achievement is gained. Every time I come back to this Manhunt, this was wayyy unfair to the speed runner(whoever being hunted, this person being Dream) as just trying to kill the dragon a second time would make it too hard for them to do it a second time, even with clutch, maybe with less hunters but five, FIVE? No way

What happened was 99% lag. The dragon "died", but it took time for the server to register so you didn't get the achievement, so they were able to respawn it before the achievement come.

dream is right, he killed the dragon and it immedietly respawned... or if its a java glitch idk i play bedrock

I tested this in a world. You cant respawn the dragon while the first one is alive. The second one respawns right after you kill the first one and you don't get the [Free the End] achievement. You have to kill the second dragon to get it. They confirmed earlier in the series it is the death of the dragon that counts, not the achievement. Dream won. Edit: thanks for the support guys:)

The reason he didn’t get the achievement is because they placed the end crystal at the exact same time dream had killed it causing it to respawn without getting the achievement.

The dragon revival is super cool but being honest, That's probably getting banned because it's too overpowered.

Dream killed the dragon after the hunters placed the crystals. When the ender dragon is killed,it leaves an egg as soon as it dies,and the ritual started after the egg appeared,meaning that Dream actually won

theory: the dragon was below 1 hp (possibly due to a rushed or accidental hit, so say a fully charged hit deals 7, but someone hit the dragon without full charge, thus dealing 6.95 damage) so the game thought it was dead, despawned the low dragon, and spawned in a new one. (please feel free to correct me if about the damage part :D) If the dragon can't be respawned while it's alive, them being able to respawn it when it WAS in fact alive is a glitch/bug in my book. I think that the Manhunt rules should be updated to say that if the dragon can be respawned, then Dream wins, instead of Dream having to get the achievement "Free the End".

You are only aloud to respawn the dragon when it's dead like that doesn't make sense that happened in the manhunt I think you win

we cannot complete minecraft in days and this guy does it in 40 mins with 5 good and experienced hunters

If you analyse the replay, the dragon died, but as the crystals were in the respawn formation, the achievement was not granted, but rather the next dragon immediately started spawning. However, the dragon was indeed slain. The arguement of who won now comes down to if Dream wins if the dragon is slain, or if the achievement [Free the End] is achieved.

I've noticed that every new hunter gets a manhunt winning moment. BBH lava traps the end platform, Antfrost splash damage pots Dream and Sam glitches the dragon. To be fair BBH had two in the 3 hunter era with the half a heart punch from behind as well.

Dream really be doing outplays and legendary moves while the hunters made a scientific discovery

Regarding the respawn ritual the Hunters did, you can only do the respawn ritual AFTER the Dragon has been killed. It is smart that the Hunters did the ritual because it healed the Dragon. Basically, the ritual the Hunters did healed the Dragon, it did not respawn the Dragon, as the Dragon had to be dead in order for that to work.
