CJ was born to write. I love her voice and I love her style of singing and screaming, but as much as I love her sound, I love what she says even more. I really hope she continues performing or at least writing, even if it’s poetry or something. I need more of her insights in my life.

I remember when this song first came out, very little views... I look at it now... and holy shit not only this song alone is blowing up but the band itself. Their creditability and potential is starting to grow more. I can't wait to see this band get the recognition they deserve in the near future. Dream State, I'm rooting for you guys and I hope for the rest of you all reading this to give and deliver the support they need!

Nah the stuff is mid, CJ was the best, not a day goes by I don’t miss her 😭 biggest regret of my life is finding them late, best thing I ever did was recently getting the primrose album so I can hear those amazing vocals everyday on the way to work. Miss you CJ, always gonna be my number one

I remember when I use to listen to this song on the daily, absolutely loved it. Was at Reading Festival walking to the main stage. Walked passed a tent that these guys were playing in. I was so shook that I ditched my friends and sprinted to the stage and went mental. Didn’t even realise they were playing! You guys are awesome!

Tbh I think in most cases when the lead singer leaves, the band has a hard time (e.g. Three Days Grace & Adam Gontier). But with CJ there was a special sound that the new singer doesn't have. Not to be disrespectful, but the new singer sounds kind of generic to me.

@@jacksonmasco this is the same sound that I hear when I do listen to radio crap. New songs that I hear on the radio and the music from this band are bland and therefore boring. The best and most creative new music for me has been from my own research on KZfaq and other internet websites not the radio. But this band isn't one of them. The newer bands that I personally like from the last decade plus are mostly from Europe and these bands mix classical, folk and other styles of music with rock and metal. Nightwish, Epica, Within Temptation, Arch Enemy, Eluveitie, Cellar Darling and many others blow these newer radio bands of the past 15 years away in creativity. The Japanese band, The Wagakki band, that I discovered this year blew me away with them mixing western style rock, metal, progressive and American pop with traditional Japanese folk. And my favorite American artist that I discovered this year is Samantha Fish who is a blues artist that mixes rock, American and old school country & western in her music besides her playing traditional blues. I will still listen to radio from time to time hoping that I will find good new music from new bands but a majority of the time I am disappointed.

She's not actually that original. Other female screamers and singers use the exact same vocal techniques as she does. She's not terrible, but she's certainly not that original.

@@BlueRaven893 Right. To be fair, there are only some many techniques 1 can use or variations on them. Plus some people just sound similar. There is nothing they can do about it. OP just doesn't get it. And yes, she clearly sounds similar to Flyleafs sound. Its possible they took inspiration from them and thus why they sound alike. Sounding like Flyeaf doesn't have to be a bad thing.

Are you implying that it ever ended? There's still great post-hardcore coming out today. Although it's a rather broad genre, so I could see someone classifying certain bands as something else like alternative rock or post-rock. Anyways, here's some examples of great post-hardcore bands still making great music: I the Mighty ourfathers. Touché Amoré Night Verses letlive. Post Hardcore will make a comeback, perhaps not in its original form. At The Drive-in is back, though! Those Genre-Starters split into The Mars Volta and Sparta. If you want some of the best Post Hardcore, listen to The Fall of Troy; Dance Gavin Dance; A Lot Like Birds; Hot Cross; Bear Vs. Shark; Of Machines; Greeley Estates (amazing live); Saosin (with Anthony Green) and Circa Survive.

Ich habe in 35 Jahren nicht einen Song gehört, der mich so tief berührt wie dieser. Kein Song hat es jemals geschafft, dass ich mich mit ihm zu 100% identifizieren kann. Die Art und Die Stimme wie CJ es zum Ausdruck bringt, ist einfach unglaublich, autentisch und stark. Ich liebe diesen Song!

I've been enjoying this for a while. So good. Then, you know when you start to get in to a band you decide to look them up - who the band members are, what their story is, where they're from. Turns out they're from very close to where I grew up and spent a lot of my youth :) Fantastic to see great music like this still coming out of South Wales 🤘🏻

It's not that. Both singers do a couple similar vocal flourishes, like the way they have a slightly extended and stressed vowel pronunciation, and have similar vocal ranges. The bands themselves don't sound particularly similar.
